About Me

Biography Over the last few years critically acclaimed solo artist Mike Rogers has enjoyed increasing success. Mike hit the mainstream with Life Factory, written on behalf of Hull City Council for Hull Royal Infirmary. Mike was chosen from all local artists to write a fund raising song for the hospital. Life factory was for sale in all major music outlets and was performed at a promotional gig at the new KC Stadium. Mike was the first to play the stadium (not Elton John as records may state) to an audience of 14,000. With regular interviews and live performances on BBC radio as well as TV appearances, this award-winning artist has achieved outstanding recognition in both the UK and the USA; claiming the Best Rock Acoustic Artist prize, awarded by the New York Music & Film Festival. After returning from Los Angeles Mike was flown to New York to perform at Madison Square Gardens to collect his award. Whilst playing - and winning - his heats in LA, Mike had the fortune to sing at a high profile muso night along side artists from Guns & Roses, Motley Crew and The Stray Cats. On his return to England Mike was approached by Gordon Raphael, producer of The Strokes, to record some original material at his London studio. Working with a talented group of individuals that he has met over the last few years, Mike recorded his latest EP Smoking Gun. Since returning to New York to record another solo album, Mike has regrouped with the musicians of Smoking Gun and headed into Europe with his new group, Mike Rogers & The Bottle Rockets. Smoking Gun was an exploration back to his solo roots with a country rock feel. Since the bands success as Mike Rogers and the Bottle Rockets showcase gigs have been set up in Europe to test the water. The band has just returned from Germany after a very successful showcase on which a summer tour is being organised on the back of. The band currently plays a combination of original and cover material including Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Free, Hendrix and more. Already having a following in Sheffield as well as being No.1 and No.2 on BBC Sheffields raw talent request list, the exploration of new venues in the area and spreading the bands reputation
