Originally a scientist, my background is in neuroscience and molecular biology. But in 2005, the world beckoned and I made the leap into a freelance life. This took the form of digitalis media, my company, in which I explore science using writing, film and art.My book, The Rough Guide to the Brain, came out in April 2007 and is acccompanied by a film of the same title I was commissioned to make for Current TV, http://uk.current.com/studio/media/31664248.With respect to film, I've made several films for FourDocs, who I think are wonderful, and am gradually assaulting the world of independent documentary filmmaking with my own perspective and mix of new, archive, animated and still footage.
