About Me

Menace to the laww was originated in 2001.

MENACE:The artist Menace was born in Brooklyn, USA. He is the only child from his loving mother Carolyn Chappelle. He was quickly moved to the Bronx area of New York City at the age of two. He lived there until the age of seven when he moved down to North Carolina with his father Mitchell Sr. Growing up his only aspiration was to play football. At that time he was told that he had an older brother that was a year and a week older than him. Meeting his brother was the best thing that happened. Even though he was only a year older he taught Menace alot of things about the South that he didn't know. Growing up with his father was really tough. He was constantly in fist fights leading up to menace getting physical manhandled by his father. Due to all the altercations Chuck, his older brother moved with his mother to escape the abuse his father would do. Menace on the other hand couldn't escape he would run away numerous times but always got lured back into his fathers' home. As he got older these were some of the things that he would write down just to always keep note of what has happened to him in such a short period of time. When he finally got a chance to move out of that household he moved back to the Bronx with his mother at the age of twelve. That's when he had his first aspiration of becoming a rapper. Moving back to New York was the best thing that happened. His eye was open to more things because of how large the city was. He would write about his daily adventure, the things he heard, the things he saw and the things he would do. He left New York just a year later because for some strange reason he always felt the South was his home and closer to father than anybody else. At the age of thirteen he wrote his first rap studying Tupac and DMX tapes. His first rap was a complete disaster, the only good thing that came out of that was that he understood concept of Hip-Hop and how to write his feelings down. As the years went by sports took a strong toll on his life and his passion for rapping had diminished. He never completly gave up rapping but he never saw any progress with his rhymes. Once he graduated from High School he saw that his athletic career wasn't going far due to injury, so he had no choice to gain his love for rappin again. He didn't write a rhyme for almost two years, and at that time he was nervous about starting up again. Tupac was always an inspiration for him whenever times got hard, and this was one of those times. He felt that he couldn't get any better until the night of February 1, 2005. He wrote a 32 that would neva be forgotten in his hood and that made his passion even stronger than before. He and his rap partner, only a week later got into a real bad altercation that split them up for a little while. So he moved on and that was the start of what you see now, Menace to the Laww.

J-LAWW:The artist known as J-laww was born in the birth place of hip-hop Bronx USA. With his mother Carolyn Dawson being young at age 17 pregnant with short Financial boundries she was forced to move in with his Father Kevin sr. They married two months before his birth and divorced shortly after, this caused controversy between the two families. His mother moved upstate to Albany NY, leaving him in the care of his father, handful of aunts and uncles, and his now, late grandmother Elaine until he was 6. In 1991 his mother snatched him out of his class, without family notice. She brought baby laww back to Albany with her. Being ripped apart from the only family he knew began the starting point in life where he first discovered what the word pain meant. But Being smart for his young age he clearly understood what was happening. Watching his family fight over him compounded onto the same pain. After losing the case in 1992 Kevin Sr. lost his hold on life, not being able to see or speak to his first born son, plus six months prior he was arrested and thrown in jail for robbery. They held him for six months and it turned out to be a mistaken identity, he lost his business, money, home, cars, and ovcoarse his son. A few months later he was locked up on Robbery and Attempted murder charges and sentenced to 15 years to life. Up for parole October 2006. This also added to young laww's pain. In 1993 he found his best friend. He called her grandma Mozelle, she was the only one in his corner. His mother Re-married and his newborn brother (2yrs) was too young to understand what was going on. J-laww became a popular symbol in his Jr. High era, being witty and able to think up humorous quotes attracted the ladies to him and made the fellas wanna be a part of his team. Around 94,95..he began to turn his ear to the late great lyrical king, better known as The Notorious B.I.G. Not being confident enough yet he kept his new found love to rhyme to himself. In 1997 J-laww hit rock bottom. He felt the worst he had ever felt in his few years of life. He lost the only person he felt truely loved him his Grandmother Mozelle. Not being able to deal with the overwhelming pain of it, J-laww went from most popular to Anti-Social, and suicidal thoughts were Constantly present. This began J-laww's lyrical reign. Now being able to convert his years of pain into an unstopable verbal force. Guided him to the light of what he really wanted to do. In 1999 J-laww flocked his mothers chicken coupe and made his way down back to the BX. Reuniting with his family, turned half his pain into a promising future.
