James Allen Carpenter was a true biker who touched so many lives. He was a simple man, who loved his family and friends, and being on the open road riding a motorcycle. Most of you know him as “Countryâ€, the founder of the Pasadena Black Hawks motorcycle club.Country was born on May 30, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas. Growing up with eight siblings in Texas was not easy. Times were hard back then, so hard that at an early age, Country would go to the fields to pick cotton to help support the family. When Country turned 20, he had dreams of exploring the United States. In 1962, that dream became a reality when he moved out West to Southern California.
As a young man, Country was always known for working with is hands and fixing things. When he arrived in California, he quickly found work with the Trades Union as a laborer. He was known as a hard worker and soon rose through the ranks as a foreman and shop steward. It was during this time that Country was fascinated by the motorcycle club scene and wanted to be a part of the brotherhood. In 1965, Country joined the notorious Chosen Few motorcycle club. The Chosen Few gave Country his set name because of his thick country or Southern accent. Country’s memories of the Chosen Few were riding fast and hard and playing even harder. In 1969, being that Country resided in Pasadena; he left the Chosen Few in good standing and joined the Pasadena chapter of the Four Horsemen. Although Country made many friends and had fond memories in both clubs, his dream was to start his own motorcycle club. That dream came true in 1972 when Country formed the Pasadena Black Hawks motorcycle club. His intention was to form a motorcycle club that revolved around family and riding. Country’s motto was “Your family and your job come firstâ€. To this day that motto still rings true. Country created the hawk design and chose his two favorite colors, black and red, to surround the extended wings of the black hawk."; I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
