Hailing from the Southside of Chicago, Il, the birth place of house music, it was no coincidence that Ramon Rawsoul would follow a path paved by legendary music greats such as Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Lil Louis, Gene Hunt, Pharris Thomas and Lee Collins.
As a youth, house music came to widespread attention as records were imported directly from Chicago to dominate the play list of Europe's most influential DJ's. He studied the dj's as he partied.
Immersed in the scene Ramon Rawsoul would have the opportunity to absorb the changes and evolution of the house music genre. He watched it grow with virtually no support from radio networks. However the support came from lovers of the music. The underground community has and still supports house and Ramon Rawsoul caters to the non pretentious connoisseur whose sole purpose is to have his/her soul fed through pulsating beats and rhythms.

Through this evolution of sound and culture Ramon Rawsoul has managed to garner his own following and create a sound unique and indicative to the “raw soul” experience. A mixture of deep soulful tracks heavy on percussion with a splash of afro and broken beat, and a dollop of the classics is a recipe only available at a Ramon Rawsoul event properly coined “The Gathering.”
His eventual migration to Atlanta, GA would bring about the formation of Rawsoul Entertainment which would serve as the spring board for many endeavors in the Ramon Rawsoul repertoire. Ramon Rawsoul would be the first to bring the concept of “House in the Park” to the south. This event, now in its 5th year is quickly becoming one of the premier house events in the South.
In addition to this endeavor, Ramon Rawsoul is responsible for “The Gathering” a 5 year running, monthly House event dedicated to bringing supporters within the house community together through soulful house music. This event has packed out venues and brought in headline talent such as Ian Friday, David Harness, Rich Medina, JoVonn, Ron Trent, Kemit, Michael Alan and Calvin Morgan of SWEAT. With Ramon Rawsoul and the legendary Kai Alce as resident djs, this event is full of high energy and “raw soul.”
