Where do I start...?
I think I could call my self a music person. My job is music related, I listen to music all the time at the office on the train..., I can talk about music forever...
I listen to Classical, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Hip-Hop, Rock, Electronica, House, Techno, Trane... pretty much anything. To be honest, I don't really care about genres even though I listed here.
GOOD MUSIC IS GOOD MUSIC!!
That's what I believe.
I'm in charge of booking foreign talents at the premier night club called "ageHa" in Tokyo. I've been working for this club since its opening of Dec 2002. Luckily, we've had the best of DJs/ Artists on the planet and there are more to come!! It's been a great experince for me to work with and meet all the professionals, and of course, listen to their music. I'd love to see more new-comers but it's bit tough to book young guns because of our capacity of 2400.
Please do not hasitate to contact me for sending me any demos etc, though. As I mentioned above, I'm a music person and always up for new stuff!! I will listen to them when I have time for sure.
Please note that I will be only able to book House/Techno/Trance DJs!!
By the way, I was living in NYC, before I started working for this club. I stayed there for 7 years and loved it. I try not to think about it so much as I still miss NYC. The life is fun in Tokyo but I will never forget the great time I had there. I wish I could go back...well life must go on, right?
Lately, I'm into Jazz very much but I'm still a biginner for a Jazz fan :-) I find it very fascinating... how well they could play equipment and express with 3~4 piece band.
I also DJ occasionally. I play mostly House Music, some techno and some trance. If you get to come Tokyo, please check out our party " ULTRA FLAVA " at Loop . It's a bi-monthly party featured DJ Endo and Zizo and myself. We play eclectic Dance Music and that's the concept of this party as well. Come on down and have fun with us! There's no party like this in Tokyo.
