"Mystical and moody.Groundbreaking and soul-shaking.Or more to the point, brilliant."
That's how Bob Leone of the Songwriters Hall of Fame has described Alice Marie's piano-based rock. Indie-Music.com says she's a star whose songs come from someplace way beyond music. And Virt Records touted her as one of its Undiscovered Gems. With a smoldering voice, poetic lyrics that penetrate the soul, and haunting, sometimes Celtic melodies amid lush, dramatic soundscapes, the New Jersey-based singer-songwriter won't remain undiscovered for long.

"Keep an eye out for this lady, she's going places." - Karla Ash, The Wig Fits All Heads
Like the best songs written by the strong women who came before her, Michele Ari's tunes ignore trendy rock sub genres. She draws inspiration from the sweet, impeccable melodies of 60’s pop, as well as the left-of-center,intelligent writing and sounds of new wave and early alternative rock. In the same vein of pioneers such as Debbie Harry and Ronnie Spector, Michele can deliver an unforgettable melody and compelling lyrics, all the while looking too cool to care in a pair of black boots. Her debut release, "85th and Nowhere," goes down like sugar and leaves its listener hungry for more. Her vocals are relaxed and unpretentious, exuding ten times more emotion and fragility than any of mainstream radio's current pop crazes. One listen to tracks such as "My Sleeping Beauty," "Pretty," or "Please" reveals an artist with true knowledge and respect for those who came before her, and who has one main concern -- bringing inspired new music into the world.

Lori Amey evokes common experiences and emotions, deeming her music approachable and a cavalcade of sincerity and sensibility. Her stage presence is effusive and sprite in the folkful way songs, stories and thoughts are conveyed but with a devious grin. Lori's song material speaks to an audience that has moments of helplessness and hurt, scoffs at modern day events, and yet looks forward with hope. Most impressive is the way in which she is able to weave a wide assortment of influences, ranging from Radiohead to Diana Krall, into a simple and mystical tapestry of sound, which she has appropriately deemed as “Limitless Acoustic Rock.â€
More recently Lori has received vast amounts of praise from RI Press for her captivating performances and recent release of THIS LITTLE ILLUSION, her 4th CD release and 3rd LP. Lori's shows have primarily consisted of solely her voice and acoustic guitar; however, fans can now catch her playing along with a group of amazingly talented musicians - Lee Sylvestre (Electric Guitar), Dan Prindle (bass), Tony Parlapiano (Keys/Organ/Bass) and Bryan Kelly (drums).

"A piano woman with a biting sense of irony, as much admired for her innovative interpretations of contemporary music as for her original material."

"Adrina Thorpe's style reflects the softer side of music, with a haunting voice and a delicate touch at the piano. Although Adrina's musical foundation is in classical piano, truly the love of writing is what holds Adrina's soul. She has been writing songs almost as long as she can remember. It took the encouragement of Dreamworks songwriter, Phil Swann, to get Adrina to officially record her compositions. Swann (who has had cuts with Lee Ann Womack and more) told Adrina "You HAVE to make an album." Teaming up with Swann and another talented Dreamworks producer/songwriter, Dave Bassett (who has worked with Lisa Loeb, Evan and Jaron, and even toured during Lilith Fair), Adrina began recording her first album, "elusive". It consists of ten of Adrina's original songs, and the initial release is almost sold out as we speak."

Originally hailing from Buffalo, New York, Jessica has been playing the guitar and writing songs since the age of 14 when she bargained with her parents to go half way with her on a $120 acoustic. She took lessons from a local musican briefly, but preferred to continue learning on her own. Singing since the age of 3, Jessica was always seeking to stretch herself by learning to yodel, and singing different kinds of material from country to musicals to rock. This led Jessica to follow her instincts to New York City where she attended school for musical theatre, writing songs on her guitar and playing them for friends and classmates all the while. After Jessica finished acting school, she didn't feel complete without sharing the songs she had written with the world, so moving through her fears of playing the guitar for an audience, she started playing open mics around Manhattan. Open mics turned into shows and Jessica soon recorded "Flying Elephants and Other Relevant Truths," which will be independently released in January 2007. Jessica is active in several charities in Manhattan concerning womens rights, animal rights and environmental issues. Jessica strives to promote activism and free thinking. She believes in the power of music to unite and strengthen humanity as a whole, enabling us all to promote change for the betterment of ourselves and our world.

"It’s clear from the first track on Nicola’s “Don’t Take it Personally†LP that she’s a born rule-breaker."
It starts with a punishing metal guitar riff, breaks down to a taut acoustic guitar groove, and hits the chorus: “My name?! It ain’t Mary!†Nicola declares in a ruthlessly authoritative, irresistibly sexy, and richly soulful wail. No kidding.
After graduating from the Fiorello Laguardia School of the Performing Artists (the “Fame†school), Nicola left New York , in much the same way people go there, searching for her destiny. Living in places as far removed as Nashville and Argentina , she made her living as a front-woman and guitarist-for-hire, a singer in commercials, and briefly even as a Broadway performer, as she honed her songwriting skills and found her own voice.
Ready to make the scene, she moved back to New York to pursue her own project. Making a living as a licensed subway performer, she began to play her songs with old friends, and from there she branched out, playing with as many musicians as she could. Gradually, her full-time band came together. Julio Rosaly, from ex-Living Colour bassist Muzz Skillings’ band, fills out the low end on bass, and seasoned rockers Eric Seiz and Jimmy Wilgus, and Ray "El Chino" Diaz, a touring member of "Milly y los Vecinos," complete the group on guitar, drums, keys and percussion.
Over the last few years and 2 LPs Nicola and her band have racked up an impressive list of rock credentials: she’s been featured on ABC World News’ “Music Under New York,†vh1.com, “Women Who Rock†magazine, and NBC News; she’s been a National Songwriters Hall of Fame featured songwriter; she performed at David Blaine’s “Drowned Alive;†and she’s been heard on FM radio in a number of markets in addition to a recent mini-feature on MTV’s Music Video Awards. Her Chicks with Guitars college tour was a major success, and her myspace profile has over 100,000 hits. She and the band are Spotlight Artists on Sonicbids, and you’ll soon be able to see them featured on an ABC Special, as well as in Billboard Magazine’s “Underground LP†section for Breaking Artists.
“Don’t Take it Personally†finds her and her band at the top of their game. From the vicious attack of “My Name Ain’t Mary†to the relatively introspective “Almost,†to the thrill ride of “(5, 6, 7, 8) Hot Date,†Nicola is in complete control. There’s enough fiery, fun-loving, fiercely independent attitude to blow your speakers off the wall. Her passionate, extroverted, fantastically versatile voice is the ultimate instrument for her unapologetic personality and irreverent wit.
Live, she’s a phenomenon. Her show incorporates her accomplished guitar work as well as dance, even as her vocals anchor the songs. A truly many-discipline affair, Nicola’s performances reveal a multi-talented artist with an innate ability to dazzle an audience with her larger-than-life presence.
In a world of manufactured Pro-Tools “talent†she’s a breath of fresh-air, truly the real thing – a serious songwriter and vocal talent with attitude and charisma the likes of which the mainstream hasn’t seen in years. Until now.
