The alternative pop quartet Thisway was formed in 1997 by singer Brandon Wilde and guitarist Chris Foley; drummer Andy LaDue joined the line-up in time to record the group's first demo, and with the subsequent addition of bassist Len Monachello, the roster was complete. After generating a buzz on the New York Club scene, Thisway eventually signed to Reprise, issuing their self-titled debut LP in the spring of 1999.Following a bidding war, in which major record labels fought over the young, melodic rock foursome THISWAY, the New York band signed with Reprise Records and soon found itself the darling of radio and press (songs from THISWAYs debut were featured heavily on several WB television shows, among others). Heralded as a signpost to alternative pop perfection in the new millennium, it wasnt long before THISWAY was touring with the likes of Bare Naked Ladies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Train and Lit, bringing its lively, Brit-Pop-inspired music to the masses. On the strength of the first album's release and the WB campaign, Thisway went to Liverpool, England, to record a follow up CD with another Grammy award winning producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Gomez), but the band was dropped by Warner/Reprise shortly after the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center.Thisway carried on independently for another few years in support of their unreleased follow up record opening for the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen and Supergrass before calling it quits in 2003.thanks for listening...
