BIG SCARE

About Me

Big Scare is Doug Biggs and m i s h k a k e i r, who recently moved from southern Ontario to the Comox Valley, B.C. While they have been enjoying the beauty of the area, they have been contributing their own musical flavour to the already rich West Coast music community. With an emphasis on melody and vocals, Doug and mishka both play guitar and sing. Their repertoire draws on unique originals from their upcoming CD release as well as a cluster of rootsy selections from some of their favourite writers ranging from The Beatles to Sheryl Crow, Lyle Lovett, Patsy Cline, Tom Waits and Bob Dylan.m i s h k a, who performed with a few Ontario acoustic groups before teaming with Doug, brings a vocal style both powerful and unique thats been said to raise the hair on a few napes.Doug comes from a background of music production, recording and writing, and contributes much of the original writing, arrangments and guitar style. And the name? No they're not a rock band in the tradition of Big Country, Big Wreck or Big Sugar. If you haven't already noticed, their last names are Biggs/Keir -- Big Scare!
