"We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be." -Kurt Vonnegut, Mother Night

I play bass, in the Louisville band Mungus ; I'm a graphic designer & artsy fartsy photographer and have just opened a CafePress shop ; I was one of the people who opened Twisted Images on Bardstown Road, but got out of the business of being a body piercer when I realized that dealing with the public at large on a one-on-one basis just wasn't for me.
I moved to Mt. Washington to raise alpacas in 2004, and although I love it, it's not something I want to do the rest of my life.
I have a habit of sending positive messages to random people on here simply because Friendliness, Niceness, and Graciousness to Strangers are dying arts. If you're reading this because I sent you such a message, don't worry: I don't have some creepy ulterior motive. I just have Motive: there's too much negativity and energetic ignorance in the world, and it's up to us to turn it around.
I actually like getting friend requests from bands. Yup, I said it. My MySpace mailbox is not so holy that I need to pitch a badly spelled ALL CAPS rant about it. I love music, and I really enjoy hearing what everyone has to offer. I'm not going to add all of you, of course, but I am a-ok with the requests.

Books:

Imajica by Clive Barker is at the top of my list, followed very closely by Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins. Clive Barker has a poetic ability that makes most laureates ashamed to display their crowns. Imajica deals with the return of the Goddess(es) and the rage of the God, though none are major characters. It's a story of love and redemption, as is Tom Robins's Jitterbug Perfume, truly. Gods and transcendence and perfume and a man with a crown of bees. Plus a fantastic dissertation on how flowers killed the dinosaurs.
