Born February 26, 1988 in New England, Connecticut as Justin Bridges, the rapper shares his trials and tribulations in every verse. Getting his name from a session in the studio where he free styled 100 bars without any Witten notes, nor rehearsals, “ the verse of the century†he captivated the minds of his musical mentors thus landing him the name Centry . With more behind the name, and to add character, it represents him being a grinder, putting 100% in what he does and giving it his all in addition to his dedication and experience in his heart to flow lyrically.
Growing up as the second oldest and later becoming the oldest of 3 living brothers and one sister; one couldn’t imagine the life of this young man. Subsequently, being the father figure was not a choice he was able to make for himself. Coming out of a single parent household he became the provider. “I had to step up and become a man for my familyâ€. Centry, played the cards his young hand was dealt. Struggling with his new role as head of household and, later having the birth of his very own child Centry remained true to his dream of becoming a rapper. Due to circumstantial set backs, Centry got caught up in a situation which landed him behind bars. With this matter at hand, which many rappers face and rap about every time the beat drops, the young rapper remained dedicated and passionate for the talent he knew he possessed. Not only did it work in his favor but it gave his long time friend and manager Christian Rodriguez the strength to stick by him spite of his unfortunate situation.
Meeting over five years ago thru a mutual acquaintance an instant brotherhood bond was formed. “We are partners but before anything we are brothersâ€. With the mind set of loyalty and dedication these two are heading to the top. Striving not only to put his self on the map but also representing for his city every inch of the way. After the release of his first single†Magic Man†and working on his first album Centry hopes to some day have the opportunity to work with some of the music industry’s the best producers such as Kanye West and Dr.Dre. Centry feels giving his audience all of him on his first album is best, more importantly giving back to the community and reaching out to the youth is also a top priority. With the world needing a change, the youth needing mentors and the rap industry needing a couple extra bars, Centry is willing to fill those positions with 100%.
