About Me

Dasinu is a Dutch instrumental rock fusion band. A mix of funk, rock, jazz, world and metal music are blended into DASINU fusion. The only permanant member of Dasinu is Hans Soeteman, who has years of experience in all kind of bands playing anything from jazz to metal with a lot of well known dutch musicians (and with even more not well known musicians!). If you are interested in that, check the dasinu website (dasinu.nl). On 'Chaos', 'Swamp' and 'Yankee Bravo' I have a special guest as co-writer/producer/musician: "Mr Monster Bass" Jim Casey from the swamps of Saint Petersburg, Florida. This makes these tracks an exciting cross continental colloboration.... more music together with Jim is in the pipeline, so it looks like he will be a more-or-less permanent guest!! 'Talk' is the result of a recent collaboration with Philip Platt (Bass - Edge of Sanity) and my old friend Rob Lokhorst (Sax - Rob Lokhorst Quartet)
I'm also very interested in doing projects with YOU. So, don't hesitate to contact me, drop me a mail and we will talk about it. More information on my Website: www.dasinu.nl.
Regards,
Hans Soeteman

The only permanant member of Dasinu is Hans Soeteman. On 'Chaos', 'Swamp' and 'Yankee Bravo' we have mister "Monster Bass" Jim Casey from the swamps of Saint Petersburg, Florida as Co-writer/producer/musician. Check out his MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/caseyspinit), and listen to his tracks. And btw: if you hear a little bit of the Dasinu sound on his track Skin, you are not far wrong. On 'Talk' you hear some Dutch musicians: Philip Platt (bass - Edge of Sanity - http://www.myspace.com/platt63) and Rob Lokhorst (sax - Rob Lokhorst Quartet). All music is recorded with Cubase and ProTools. Check the Dasinu website for more details (www.dasinu.nl).

Sounds Like: It's difficult to describe your own music, so this is what music lovers from all over the world say:Epic; Off the wall, quirky, fusion; Neo classical influences; A journey of genres; Apocolyptic; A really abstract kind of vibe, kind of like acid Jazz; Fantasy dragon rock; A complex, layered and contrapuntal form of music; Both ethereal and atmospheric and simultaneously grounded and focused. It was also haunting and spooking while still being heavy and rocking; A more atonal, harder edged RUSH; Space Rock.
