Artist arranger, producer, entertainer and lyrical creator are all words used to describe the music industry. Yet when you fuse words such as perfectionist, multi-talented, hard working, lyrical theorist and a contagious enthusiasm for the art of realistic story telling, it undeniably depicts the tenacious Jermaine Robbins. With his smooth, yet sultry transitions and catchy beats, he quite easily converts nontraditional neo-soul, smooth R&B listeners into instant fans. As a Southern artist, Jermaine Robbins combines his love of the South with a twist of home grown realism, topped off by fresh, innovative and collective melodies. To understand the depth of his work, one must first understand the inner workings of this talented artist. Being raised by his parents in Atlanta, Georgia, Jermaine Robbins developed his love of music early on. As a youth, music was always an important part of his life. His mother threw parties on weekends where Jermaine would perform the latest dance moves and sing the likes of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire the Jackson 5 and New Edition. As he grew into manhood, he developed an ear for music and production by performing. His natural gift for singing and entertaining led him to display these talents in a variety of high school talent shows. I can remember like it was yesterday. I was part of an R&B group named Full Deck. We toured throughout Georgia. It was a great experience. Jermaine Robbins fondly recalls the days of long road trips and sleepless nights from performing in night clubs and area showcases. As the groups popularity grew, they added numerous wedding engagements to their already busy calendar. After a long stint of successful gigs, the group members went their separate ways and Jermaine continued to press on with his dream of stardom. In first meeting Jermaine Robbins, it is hard not to instantly be drawn to his hypnotic passion for precision. His focused seriousness about the potency of his lyrics and quality of his musical production will make you realize the complexity of his thoughts and brilliance in his design. Your first impression would lead you to believe he is a quiet, well-mannered, business-minded perfectionist with the wisdom of a veteran entertainer. However, as this performer steps on stage under the lights, his description transforms from the quiet Southern boy to what he refers to as what ladies want. Jermaines main inspirations for his choice in lyrics comes from what he states are many up and down relationships. As expressive emotionally as he seems, you would think his decision to convey his feelings about love, relationships and the like onto paper would have been the natural next step for him. Yet, this was not the case. Fortunately for us, he realized his thoughts on paper could easily be transformed into recorded songs. Jermaines first professionally recorded song, Dont Want You to Go Girl, was sold throughout Georgia and the Carolinas, creating an opportunity for Jermaine to collaborate with Atlanta rap artist Shy-D on his album entitled Back on the Road. You can hear him on the tracks Fly Girl and I Like The Way This Is Going Down. At only 27 years of age he has worked countless hours with many of the industries hottest musical engineers. He wants the older crowd to appreciate his sense of real music captured in a fresher rendition of the old, while attracting a new audience with adult themes. As time will soon reveal, Jermaine Robbins Southern roots will shine through. It has always been disappointing to me to pick up an album that has only one or two good songs. I want to give listeners what they deserve. I want to touch all bases and give them variety. I want them to feel what I feel when I sing each song. With the strong will and hard work ethic he possesses, it is not hard to see this artist rising to the top of the music world one love song at a time. Jermaines debut album is entitled Reflections of My Soul.
