The Hyra project started during the summer of 1997 in Gela (CL). They played rock covers and recorded their first demo-cd: "The Half World", mini-concept about the extra-nation of the modern man from the society all around him. This work has been appreciated from the broadsheets METAL HAMMER and METAL SHOCK and the Hyra, charged from those critics, In 2001 wrote the debut-album self-produced: "Words Spoken After...", who as been good appreciated from fanzines e web-zines and the magazines PSYCHO!, ROCKHARD, METAL SHOCK e METAL HAMMER. In 2002 start the live promotion of the album and they're guest of the AREZZO WAVE festival jamming at the regional final at AGRICANTUS of Palermo. In 2003 the band works on new tracks creating the promo "From This Prison" with a song-writing whos evolving in more direct rock way, always protecting our background and our sickly melodies. Recording "From This Prison", the band is supported by TONY CARBONE (ex bass of DENOVO who work with CARMEN CONSOLI and MARIO VENUTI two of the Sicilian singer of the moment ). In 2004 Hyra's win against a lot of problem with their live music as open act during KATATONIA and 24 GRANAs concert and as guest during the I-TIM TOUR of Catania.
