About Me

I didn't start singing until 5 years ago February, but I think I've grown a lot in that time. I welcome feedback. This page is set up to let people hear me sing that can't make it out live AND to promote my weekly karaoke shows. These are my recordings (and low-volume, so crank 'em up) from karaoke, not originals. If you go to YouTube and search "Ste7en", you'll find a few recordings people have shot of me at karaoke, too.
ALSO, this page is for YOU, the people that come to my karaoke shows. Links to pics taken are on the left hand side of my page. And you can check out my current weekly schedule (just below here).
If you want to hear me live OR YOU WANT TO SING and you're local, I am the KJ and sing every week @ the shows you see listed below. You can always see my current Kara-O-King schedule here on my events on this page.
If you want to know more about me personally, check out my Ste7en page. And I'm the vocal half of an alternative rock acoustic duo named Empty Socket . Add us and come hear us play live sometime. We have one studio recording there on the page, and one original song so far, too.And to those that want to recruit me as your band's frontman, I don't have the time for it. Sorry.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.kara-o-king.com
Band Members: Ste7en Finlay
Influences: Three Days Grace, Collective Soul, Live, Shinedown, Staind, Pearl Jam, Fuel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice In Chains, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Creed, Godsmack, The Cure, Audioslave, U2, Bon Jovi and many more. Love to sing mainly grunge, new rock and alternative rock. But, I try and be diverse and do some folk, funk, country and ballads.

Pause the music player above, first. Then, you can play a clip of me singing Fuel's Hemorrhage at my Wednesday show, Scary-Okee...

And just so you can see I can do more than rock, here's my version of some Commodores from the 70's! LOL

For those vocalists that think karaoke is "beneath them", here's SYESHA from Idol Season 7, showing she's cool with it!

Sounds Like: Sounds like these songs were all recorded at really low levels. So, put the volume up. Crank it!!

Fuci-Fino's makes it in The Herald, right before it closes.

We've loved Wednesdays @ Fuci-Fino's for years now. Scary-Okee brings out people who would never be caught dead in a another karaoke joint. That's because Scary-Okee is different. It's filled with roc...

Who claps for YOU in life?

It hit home with me the other day why karaoke is so popular AND why I personally got addicted to it so many years back. It's applause. How many of us work hard at jobs, at relationships, at life - and...

The truth about what karaoke SUPPORT means.

Something I need to say and sorry if it offends anyone. I really appreciate when people come out to my karaoke show, to support it and to make sure it survives. Special thanks to Roly for coming out a...
