About visionfall
VisionFall began in the summer of 2006 after the split of TheMiseryCause earlier that year. Ricky Taylor, Sam Mather and James Prior were still passionate about writing together but lacked a vital component. A bass player. After seeing an advertisment from Phil Walton VisionFall invited him to a practise and everything clicked. VisionFall was official. For 3 months the band got writing and finding the sound we enjoyed until an offer came to play the hometown Snooker Club with good friends Reign UponUs and Gehenna VII VII VII. A good response was heard that night and VisionFall was ready to carry on.
The decision was made something was missing. A second guitarist. Auditions were held and the decision was made immediatley. Craig Harris became the latest member. A month later another hometown show came up for grabs and the fully equipped VisionFall were back on stage.
February of 2007 came and the band was in the studio to record a 2 track demo CD. All went well completing 2 tracks in 3 days.
From then on VisionFall played up and down the country until the following February. Unwelcoming news came into the fold. Craig and Phil had decided to leave to accomplish other things. The band wished them luck and auditions were immediatley held.
Neil Raynor was drafted in as second guitarist with Ryan Thornton taking over on bass duties. Gigging commenced until October 2008 when Neil was forced to leave due to personal reasons.
The search was on and a few weeks later Jason Smalley had entered as the official second guitarist of VisionFall.
Disaster was to strike again when James left due to musical differences in December. Scott Horne replaced James picking up the songs immediatley and contributing to the writing process straight away.
Due to the contribution James had on singing duties the job has now been passed to Ricky to take all vocal responsibilitys with Sam backing any other vocal parts.
visionfall are back now for the new year of 2009 stronger than ever. New year, new line up, new songs and slighty newer sound.
The cause of events has not stopped the band from carrying on infact it has made the band as a unit stronger. visionfall are ready to take the metal anywhere anytime.
Stay Strong and Keep It Metal!
Thankyou so much for all the support. Forever appreciated!

"TIGERLILY BAND OF THE MONTH" June 2007
-Tigerlily Oxford-
visionfall...Amazing...Utter Class. (Headline next time boys!)
-Beatdown Productions-
There is no messing about with these boys, visionfall certainly know how to shove the bollocks into the punters here tonight at the Port Mahon. Their version of metal-core hits almost every spot, certainly in stand out song ‘The Thirst’, think of a mixture between beatdown kings As I Lay Dying and the epic finish metalers Children of Bodom. visionfall sling their hair and attack the stage with their vicious distribution of hate fuelled grime, making a perfect impression to the moshers at the front. Pity the singing wasn’t, at all times, in tune. But overall a fantastic wake up call for the old biddy’s’ trying to sleep upstairs. 8/10
-Oxford Metal Review-
Next up was Bicester based five-piece visionfall. Delivering a confident and distinctive set of Thrash Metal they showed they know exactly how to get the most from their sound. Ambitious in their scope they pull it together perfectly for an urgent and intense sound that should serve them well. Live they put in all the energy that you would expect from their sound, yet maintained a high level of technical precision throughout for a strong, convincing set that went down well with the Friday night crowd.

When I recieved a call from my partner in crime about the 'visionfall' BOTB gig at hobbits W.S.M. I was eager to go and check out this fresh band (after all they are playing 'HEATHEN FIRE FEST').
and dissapointed I WAS NOT!!!!
For a band that have only been together for about 2 years they have the presence of a veteran group.
The songs were well written and expertly performed and to see the emo's who were there for the other bands rock out during 'vision's' very groove laden breakdowns was awesome!!!
Drummer Scott Horne executes his beats and rhythm's with the accuracy of a swiss watch, coupled with bassist Ryan Thornton's battering low end assault, they provide a strong backbone for even the hardest metal.
The sybiotic relationship between guitarists Sam Mather and Jason Smalley is somewhat of a rarity in metal as of late. They seem to be thinking the same things at the very same time while providing crushing riffs with powerful soaring melody's and screaming harmonics that even the mighty DIMEBAG (RIP) would be stoked with.
Vocalist Ricky Taylor has the kind of voice i would be proud to have. As a vocalist myself, i know how hard it can be to switch between styles, going from a gutteral growl to a ripping scream while mixing it up with tuneful breaks akin to the likes of Chino Moreno and Daryl Palumbo.
Think 'Killswitch Engage' meets 'Meshuggah' while drinking with 'Bullet For My Valentine'
Add a little 'GlassJaw' ecclecticness and your almost there.
Most of all they looked like they were having a hell of a good time just playing which is so important.
The E.P. 'At Sanity's Wake', which was recorded at Prism Music recording studios in Bicester was produced by Sadegh Hakimi and has a very profesional sound which any aspiring band should strive for and to include the lyrics in the gatefold went down well in my books.
The line up may have changed now but you will find all involved very talented.
TRACKS TO LOOK OUT FOR: Following Of The Mindless.
All in all, these guys are going to do big things so watch this space.
If you hear of them playing anywhere near you, I highly recommend seeing them tear it up.
Even better, you should come to 'HEATHEN FIRE FEST' @ the bungalow inn. bristol. 11th-13th sept where you can see vision fall and many other amazing bands.
