About Me

Hey Guys my name is Mitch Quinn and am writing this defining message about my life at 11:00pm on a Saturday night so expect top quality writing here. Well starting off with the main components of my wonderful life (I speak with sarcasm but I really do enjoy life....though I am about to do the HSC I'll let you know how that pans out for me, the other major component of my life (in an institutional sense)is my favorite place the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, or for those playing at home simply "the Con". I've spent a significant proportion of my life there and met some of my favorite people there and it pains me to say I will be leaving there after 10 years of lessons, Friday night Orchestra and Saturday morning strings and I will regret that most out of all things that will end at the beginning of life in the real world....well not really as I'll be staying at home and going to uni (maths degree in case your interested and wondering if I was cool....which I so obviously am). But I digress as always in writing and I'll get back to music and tie that off first. I love music simply (that does however not include music that I dislike or have a "meh" attitude towards) and If you haven't already guessed from my pretentious title to my myspace that I do in fact play the 'cello, and have been doing so since about year 2 (ten years again for those playing at home without calculators at the ready) and mostly love playing in a string quartet, hence my favourite place of the week is Saturday morning chamber music at the con along with my good good friends.Domestically I have an older brother Dave, and a younger sister Siobhan, my fathers and ex-copper and now is a solicitor, and my mum is also and ex-copper who now works for the police '000' and Police assistance line. I also have four dogs (two pugs, poodle cross and a minnie fox terrier) and three of the dogs are in my bed now (I feel like the male dog version of the crazy cat lady). I live at Erina and work at Erina Fair Maccas (yes in the food court) for a "steady" job (I'm getting more gigs for weddings ect. than I am getting rostered on at work...tedious rostering manager) and I drive a 1988 Ford Telstar donated by through the kindness of my great grandfather its a good car with electric windows and all...despite the fact it is still a year older than me haha.As I said before I have a tendency to digress so I'll cut short my amazing life story and congratulate you on actually reading this far - you truly must be as bored as I was while writing this pretentious garbage.if you need a string quartet for that special occasion visit:http://www.myspace.com/theresonatequartet, or email me at [email protected]
Cheers Mitch

Some of my heroes in the 12 'cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, I hope to find a CD of theirs one day:

Music:

Whatevers good, i detest rap. i like anything really my favorite band is apocalyptica (heavy metal 'cello's basically),among the horribly generalised genre of "classical" music i generally like anything i've played before the best though many others songs such as the dvorak cello concerto are really among my favourites. Rossini string sonatas are really nice to listen to while doing something like work or whatever. my favourite string quartet at the moment is qartet no.2 by borodin i've played it many times and is the best quartet ever. when i listened to apocalyptica i 'discovered' metallica as they did cover versions of metallica music. most pop music nowdays just annoys and frustrates me especially panic at the disco, whos lyrics seem to be selected at random without context(eg their band name)

Television:

Family Guy, South Park, Spicks and Specks, Glass House, Chasers War on Everything, The Games, Black Books
I am afraid your novel is unsuitable for us at the present time and herewith return your manuscript. I do hope you are not disheartened by this rejection.
Best wishes, Barnaby Chessington-Howe-Foxworth Rejection.
Rejection.
Dear Mr Chessington-Howe-Foxworth,
Thank you for returning my manuscript and your enclosed, nasty, niminy-piminy, little note. I am afraid your letter is most unsuitable for me at the present time as I’ve just spent the entire weekend writing the novel that you have summarily rejected. I can only presume it is company policy to reject all manuscripts not submitted in ten-foot-high Braille. And yes, I am aware that it is traditionally bad form to respond to any kind of criticism or rejection, but in this, as with all else, I am an innovator; therefore I may freely address you as piss midget. Still, there’s time for you to change your views, and I think you will when we meet, and meet we most assuredly will. When I suck out your eyes and use them as stoppers for my ears to muffle the screams you make as I head butt you into a fine paste. I do hope you will not be disheartened by your sudden, violent death.
Yours faithfully,
Bernard Black
everyone… everyone agreed that he was right to kill the publisher, and to do it with a flugelhorn was a stroke of genius. “Bernard,” they said. “No… Brendan… Brendan, Brendan,” they said, “Congratulations. Here, have this basket of stuff and come and stay for the weekend.”
