About Me
I graduated from Edwardsville high school in 2003, and joined the Navy. I am now a hospital corpsman onboard the USS Peleliu. I have been in 5 years, and it has been the best 5 years of my life. There have been good times and bad, but I believe I have learned enough that it makes it worth it. I have met my wonderful husband of a little over 3 years, Robert Word. I was Christin Shea before I got married, and now I have the coolest last name there is! Word up bitches!!! Anyway, I was at Naval Hospital 29 Palms in CA when I met Robert, and he is a corpsman too. He currently is on the USS Decatur, so we are doing double sea duty, and it has worked out so far. We are both in port right now (San Diego), and we have both been on two deployments with our ships. I recently earned my Surface and Air warfare qualifications as well, and I was initiated as a Shellback!!! We were both able to go to Bahrain, Dubai, Phuket Thailand (THAT was FUN!), Singapore, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. On my deployment last year, I went to Vietnam, Papau New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Marshal Islands, Guam, Singapore, the Philipines, and Hawaii two more times. I am going to enroll in X-Ray tech school after sea duty as well. I may go for a doctor's degree after that, but I have not decided yet. Robert and I do not have kids yet, but I am only 23, and not really ready for that... We live in an apartment in Chula Vista with our cat Vader. I guess that's all about me for now. I am leaving again for deployment on the 4th of May, and will be gone for 6 to 9 months. No myspace access for that time period...
