I'm the assistant manager of MusicHead & I write for BallbusterMusic.com (Google me!). Recently, I've been working on a radio show here in Southern Oregon called The Edge (106.3 KZZE FM). I'm also a professional musician & have a Traditional Power/Thrash band called Emissary featuring members of some of the best Metal bands in the Rogue Valley. We were recently accepted to be on the new LIZZY BORDEN tribute CD coming out on Metallic Archangel Records (Check out the song on this page)!ABOUT MY BAND:
It was the summer of '89 in Las Vegas. I got together with four friends from high school & formed a Metal Band called 'Emissary'. We recorded some demos & played a few house parties my senoir year, one of them being my first paying gig. We got $50 to play a birthday party outside, next to the swimming pool at my friend's apartment complex & in addition to a handful of original songs, I remember covering songs by Metallica, Motley Crue & Great White. That was the day I became a "professional" musician. My 1990 yearbook is still covered in handwritten notes from schoolmates reading "Emissary rules" etc. Shortly after graduation, the members parted ways but with my bandmates' blessings, I kept the name & logo I designed which in addition to lyrics I had written back then, was reused in Medford Oregon shortly thereafter. That version of Emissary played gigs all over the west coast, released several cassette demos which earned us radio airplay & opening slots with signed national acts. A few years later, the 90's music scene forced us underground, but with the resurgence of Traditional Metal, A new & improved Emissary was reformed that is still Thrashing away. We are one of only a dozen bands chosen to appear on the Lizzy Borden tribute CD, and we'll be recording a new album before long.
