About Me

Hey what's up, I'm Ryan but most of you will probably know me as either that-guy-who-used-to-work-at-All-Star-Video or the guitarist for A Far Cry. Either way, you stay classy san diego. :) My friend Jess made me sign up on here, so I'm something of an unwilling myspace participant, but otherwise I'm a pretty simple guy to figure out... Basically, I'm tall, I'm straightedge, and I live and die for punk/emo music, movies, and computer geekdom. I write computer software professionally during the week, and I still miss spending two or three days a week slinging movies behind the counter at All Star Video in Northport, where I worked proudly from the late 1990's to the store's closing in 2006. I love good conversation, italian food, going to shows, video games, LAN parties, watching / going to the movies, making out, and playing music with the people I love. Blah. Please feel free to IM me, my s/n is NeoRPG Geo.

My Interests

Computers, Music, Guitar, shopping, spending way too much time at Cafe Portofinos, reading anything I can get my hands on, hanging out with musicians and pretending to be one, the beach, walks, romanticism, video games, astronomy, pink t-shirts, making out, photography, climbing trees, designing roller coasters, and interstellar navigation.

I'd like to meet:

Chris Conley, Chris Carrabba, Steve Jobs, Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicholas Sparks. *BRIAN KRAKOW*... Also, in the immediate sense, I'd like to meet people who are cool, interesting, can hold up a decent conversation, listen to good music, and hopefully are straightedge. People to share my time, come along to shows, hang out with... people who know the value of a large pizza and a great DVD.

Music:

This is really *SUCH AN INTENSE SUBJECT.* Bands that I listen to - there are just too many to count or list. I'm really pretty open and will give anything a spin, except pretty much anything to be found on Z100 today. If you listen to 50 Cent, then we can't be friends, I'm sorry. :( It's as simple as that. Just to name a few, special mention must be given to Saves The Day, **The Beatles**, **Bob Dylan**, Dashboard Confessional, Something Corporate, Cyndi Lauper, Simon & Garfunkel, and Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer. They'd be the "desert island" picks. Beyond that - Weezer, The Get Up Kids, Barenaked Ladies, The Cure, Murr, Mary's Laugh, Depeche Mode, Further Seems Forever, Green Day, Howie Day, Good Charlotte (old-school, pre-sellout, had a message and still really punk Good Charlotte, not the new fucking wannabe popstars Good Charlotte), Tori Amos, Motion City Soundtrack, Rilo Kiley, Patti Smith, Joan Jett, Oasis, Prozzak, Radiohead, Sarah McLachlan, The Straylight Run, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, U2, New Found Glory, The Weakerthans, The White Stripes. Special shout to the brilliant girls of Murr - you gals are my light and my inspiration, thank you forever for leading the way.

Movies:

Too many to list. I mean, dear god, where does one even begin? A Walk To Remember, all time number one. Good Night & Good Luck, Almost Famous, Antitrust, Shawshank Redemption, Back To The Future, Finding Nemo, Peter Pan, Mean Girls, October Sky, This Is Spinal Tap, Serendipity, Ever After, Brick, Anchorman, Say Anything... that's the desert island list, no question.

Television:

Haven't had it for the better part of a decade... so really there's only two things I can say here. Friends and My So-Called Life.

Books:

anything by Nicholas Sparks, Douglas Coupland, Nick Hornby, Jon Katz, Douglas Adams, Homer Hickam, Ray Bradbury, Christopher Paolini, plus the usual classics - Shakespeare, Poe, Dickens, Hawthorne, Conan Doyle, Stoker, Aligheri. Just can't stand the Bronte sisters or Jane Austen. Recently fell in love with "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower", "Notes From the Midnight Driver", "Looking For Alaska" and "An Abundance Of Katherines."

Heroes:

Chris Carrabba. Chris Conley. John Lennon. Simon & Garfunkel. Rachel & Vince from Zolof.
