WELL, IT'S OFFICIAL, *COLD BLOODED* IS NOW OVERSEAS GETTING RADIO PLAY IN THE UKRAINE!!!! THANKS AGAIN YULIA-DJ
Well, word on the streets of San Antonio, Texas is that there is a group out there building a buzz and this buzz is starting to sound like a swarms out the bible.
Yes!, I'm talking about San Antone's own, Cold Blooded.
A Rap/Hip-Hop group, fresh off the streets of San Antone, with hot tracks like "Woodgrippin'", give some indepth insight on what Cold Blooded is about and how another city is ready to put Texas, let alone San Antonio, on the map. On other tracks, such as the club bangers "Krunk Nite" (which feat. vocals from Dell) & "Hit Da Floor" (which feat. vocals from Big Cliff), Cold Blooded delievers us a nice little night cap about their incounters and night life at the clubs. Now, Cold Blooded, who members consist of Black Prince, who is 24, Big Stan, 24, Grinch, 21, and Quarta Pound who is 19, has hit the streets running. Cold Blooded's music and family connection to one another is something out of a John Singleton movie, where real life and the streets plays a part in each of their lives. It's mainly why when these four members of Cold Blooded step on stage or in a booth, you can guarauntee necks and ears will be throbing from feeling what these young, southern, Texas stars have worked so hard to get. "GREAT MUSIC!".
Cold Blooded started like most young MC's, but the difference is, they come from a city where not many well known rap music artist are from or grew up in. San Antonio, Texas is known for it's beauty, cleaniness, it's history, and attractions. Oh yeah!, who can forget, the Spurs. "When it comes to music in general, I feel like San Antonio has the biggest obsitcals to overcome, with big city rivals like H-Town to the east, and D-Town and Austin to the north, we have to work even harded."says Black Prince of Cold Blooded, on how much great music San Antonio has and how San Antonio have to stive even harded to get heard. While just in high school, freestyling over instumentals T-Polk had always bumpin' out the in-home-studio (C.E.O for San Antone's own Texas Finest and artist of Dam Deal Ent.), Bigg Stan, Grinch, and Black Prince decide that music is was "It". Also, for those who don't know, Bigg Stan is also the younger brother of T-Polk. While T-Polk used to drop mixtapes and tracks for Texas Finest (Fresh Off Da Lot installments). Cold Blooded and our homeboys would freestyle over instrumentals T-Polk had set up in the in-home-studio he had in da back room, where he recorded the defferent styles and mind frames that Cold Blooded laid on track. T-Polk, you can say, was basiclly the one who etched in Cold Blooded's minds that rapping was the somthing we should pursue. T-Polk was behind Cold Blooded. He played the roll of teacher/mentor, giving Cold Blooded the different aspects of the game, the do's and don'ts, and made sure to really think about if this is really Cold Blooded wanted to do. So, after some time after really gettin into that mode of stepping Cold Bloodeds' freestyling and writing verses game up, Cold Blooded finaly just said "fuck it" and Cold Blooded was formed.
Now, Cold Blooded isn't your average group, there are so many interworkings and magnitudes of this group that many artist today just dont have. Cold blooded, first of all, got there own style as a group and individually. As far as Big Stans, his style is more of a heavy hitting in-your-face type of lyricist, giving you dat raw uncut view of his Tone City life with his tellin' it like it is demeaner. Like on his new single "Glass Feet", Big Stan stepped his game up on this one. With a snippet of Chamillionaire of Swisha House from "Big Swangers" track, and band member Quarta pound on the chours, where he just hit line after line wit heavey hittin' lyrics he somehow found within himself, which is why I say "be on the look out for Cold Blooded." This track is what you call a "trunk banger", because of the bass that rumbles speakers, cars, and walls, Texas music is known to deliver. Now, Quarta Pound, got this young street gangsta/ hustlas ambition to 'em, co-existing with word play that creeps up on you and just gut punches your ass, leaving you like, "Mann!!Did he just say that?". Quarta Pound also takes you back to the Club wit his new single "Klub Banga" as he comes strong with lyrics like"...we fifty niggas deep, and everybody here retared!". This track, once you hear it, will catch your ear so fast because of the workmanship behind the beat and the lyrics. Now Grinch, with his strait from the street mentality, on songs like "2 Throwed" and "Tippin' Down" where hard life just seem to illuminate from his southern drawl, giving you deeper perspective and appreciation for the music that Cold Blooded have worked so hard on, to show not to prove, wut Cold Blooded has to offer to the Game. On top of all that, Grinch is a type of lyricsits that acually take the time and build the listener up to the climax, and keeps you there, bob and vibin' with him the whole way through. And last but not least Black Prince, his style is more of a laid back approach but still capture the essence of hip-hop/rap with his fast deliveries and strong real life content. Listeners can be sure that Black Prince will continue to bring dat bounce, shake, groove style and his versitile style that make a nigga wanna stan up, as he did on the opening line of "Woodgrippin'", "Yeah we from Texas nigga / where it get hectic nigga.." As far as live performances, Cold Blooded has ventured across the Tone City hitting up different venues, clubs, and bars, not to mention, took it on the road all the way to Austin a couple of times to show Austin who Cold Blooded was, is, and how the San Antone music scene holds it down.
"Cold Blooded is far more than the eye can see and I see alot opening up for Cold Blooded. Basiclly, long story short, you really need to pay attention to these young, southern, Texas stars for what there about and who they are. "GREAT MUSIC!!". As for what the future brings for Cold Blooded? Who knows? Only time can tell. Last but certainly not least, with promises of a second CD from Cold Blooded, all we can do is wait for another grand entrance. Cold Blooded is just one of those groups you can't sleep on because something is bound to happen in Da Tone, and I think Cold Blooded is it.Oh, one more thing. Also, just recently, Cold Blooded has got there first overseas radio play in the Ukraine. Well keep ya up dated.-Black Prince***SHOUT OUTS***
