..Mr. Fontain is a jazz, swing and easy listening vocalist from Manchester, England. He started singing jazz standards from the age of 14 in clubs around the Manchester area.He is currently working with top UK based songwriters, Dennis Fisher and Steve Plews on a swing/easy listening, commercial jazz album. One of their first original collaborations, “First Day of Spring†is already being played on Smooth FM’s dinner jazz show.Mr. Fontain is also working on various video projects including one which sees him making music videos for young local singers who would not normally get the opportunity to do so. The project aims to help young people to get involved with the local community and also provide them with the skills to film, edit and produce their own music video. The video footage of this project will be released very soon.As well as the music videos, Mr. Fontain is also making several documentaries – one of which follows his journey throughout Europe and Africa and aims to give a unique insight into the different cultures and food of each country that he encounters.Another project explores how his hometown in Manchester has changed in the last 5 years through the emergence of new communities in the area. In doing so, he aims to bring the different influx of cultures together in the hope of a better community.Not only a vocalist and budding film maker, Mr. Fontain also has a serious interest in politics and is working on standing at the next general election of his constituency of Blackley, Manchester. ***************A brief history…In February 2006, Mr. Fontain organised his first big band gig at Manchester United Football Club with Mark Gillbank’s 18 piece swing band. Amongst the band was his trumpet teacher Dave Browning. He also showcased the originals songs with a trio led by Ben Dawson who has previously starred in the Kevin Spacey film "Beyond the Sea".
