He was also the recipient of the Martins Int'l songwriter of the year award for 1992. Being kept busy behind the scenes he made the decision to focus on his songwriting career which as he puts it enabled him to dedicate more quality time with his family instead of touring. Still he has had his share of successes over the years as a vocalist recording hit songs like "Territory" (1987), "Lonely Night"(1988), "Gun Ting" (1991), "Silent Consent (1993), "My World Your World" with Dennis Brown and Luciano (2000), "Live Life To The Fullest" with Marcia Griffiths (2004) "I'm So Proud" (2005) and Stand Up for Love" with Peter Gayle (2006). "Shining Time" featured guest appearances by Shaggy, Beres Hammond, Annette Brissett, Hopeton Lindo and Cutty Ranks. During this year he also co-produced tracks on Turbulence "Nah Sell Out" and Causion "One Life To Live" albums. Production was mostly done at Cell Block Recording Studio in Ja. and Star Child Recording Studio in Miami / Atlanta with the assistance of gifted engineers Anthony "Al” Graham and Oliver "Starchild" Samuels respectively. The treatment riddim various artists album which also features artists like Anthony B & Danielle D, Glen Washington, Anthony Cruz, Ambilique, Lloyd Brown, Luddy Haskel, Mark Wonder, Sodaak, Dean Frazer and Kamilah was released in November 2006, distributed by V.P Records. This album was patiently put together and features collaborations with some of the top acts in reggae. He is also producing songs on album projects for Everton Blender, Annette Brissett, Peter Gayle and others. Over the years Hopeton Lindo has shared the stage with some of the best artists in reggae, artists like Jimmy Cliff, Freddie McGregor, Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, John Holt, Third World, Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Lady Saw, Luciano and more, his performance at Reggae Sunsplash in 1991 was well received. After a long break of regular up front performances, his new album entitled “ Turf “ will mark his highly anticipated returm to the stage. He’s a product of patient development in all the right places and is save at all levels, as quoted "The true measure of greatness is a combination of talent and heartical humility, Hopeton Lindo is more than equal to the measure".
