About Me

Born to a homemaker mother and military father Nick Snipes was destined to find Christ on his own. He accepted Christ in 1992 in a small storefront church in Rota,Spain,he then moved to Chicago with his grandparents, and currently attends The Salem Baptist Church of Chicago under the leadership of his uncle Rev. James T. Meeks.
Since that time Nick has used his gift of writing to edify the body of Christ, and has had several poems published in the youth church’s bulletin. This gift and strong will, helped Nick gain notoriety in youth church, and during that time Gospel Hip-Hop was making its way to the church. It was quickly becoming a medium in which young Christians expressed themselves.
Nick’s desire to serve the Lord more and in a way he could relate led him to ask a fellow church member what he could do to further the cause of Christ. Months later Nick was invited into the churches rap ministry BASIC Coalition. Through BASIC Nick learned how to minister the gospel with his gift of poetry. The group traveled to several states and shared stages with the likes of Commissioned and Bobby Jones, and other prominent artist in the gospel genre. All culminating into a Luis Palau evangelistic crusade called "Say Yes Chicago" were BASIC ministered to over 15,000 youth at the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park,Illinois.
In 2000 BASIC disbanded and Nick embarked on his solo career. After much Prayer and fasting Nick started his first Demo entitled "Majesty." He then kept ministering for 3 years after the demo was completed and has shared the stage with gospel hip-hop heavy weights such as Mark J, Elle Roc, and T-Bone who anointed Nick into Gospel hip-hop ministry.
He has also ministered at a number of Correctional Facilities around the Country including the LA County Jail and Division 11 at the Cook County Jail in Chicago two of the worst in the nation. And every 3rd Sunday he ministers at Cook County Boot Camp.
2005 marks the first full-length project of Nick Snipes entitled "Majesty" which Nick says will sum up his journey with God. "Majesty" is a 14 song gem that hits you in the street, but in the heart as well. It is the most anticipated album and most important in Chicago Gospel hip-hop history.
Nick’s faithfulness has made him a favorite of many youth Pastors in the Chicago-land area and that same faithfulness has been seen by his peers and they are all ready to celebrate the release of this album.
Nick Snipes has the same zeal for Ministry as he did when he started and hopes to show the world why Jesus is truly the light that brought him out of darkness. Currently Nick volunteers as a mentor at Salem Christian Academy as well as several other organizations in the city including The Lydia Home, which is a faith based group home’ Nick has also done a number of lectures and concerts at this facility. Recently he performed for Chicago’s Youth net After school program in the heart of Chicago’s Cabrini Green housing projects which is one of the worst in the nation.
Nick’s diligence and dedication to the ministry of gospel Hip -Hop is undaunted, and he hopes that his mission is clear in everything he does. To love God, serve God,and disciple in Jesus name.
