WHAT'S NEW I'm counting down to the 11th annual installment of Q Cinema, Fort Worth's Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, coming up May 28-31 at the Rose Marine Theater. Also trying to force myself to blog at http://web.me.com/toddcamp1 and qcinema.org. Other than that, trying to pull myself out of the post financial apocalyptic funk and try desperately to engage myself artistically. It's hard to make art when people around you are suffering. Or is that the only way to make art... I forget. WHAT'S OLD I first ventured to Fort Worth to attend TCU and never left. Together with a good friend, I started and continue to run (with much help from an ever-expanding festival family) Q Cinema, Fort Worth's Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival which just celebrated it's 10th year. I worked for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for 18 years, writing about film, television, pop culture and contributing a weekly DVD column for the Sunday edition. That is until I was unceremoniously laid off recently and now serve as the marketing communications analyst for American Airlines Credit Union. And no, I can't get you cheap flights. I've dabbled in cartooning (several graphic novels and daily comic strips), acting (three movies and several plays) and even stand-up comedy, each of which can be as terrifying as they are thrilling. I'm constantly disappointed with my inability to act on my own potential.
