One Day at a Time

I am who I am not inspite of my trials but because of them!

About Me

I edited my profile at LayoutSource.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
I am multicultural. My mother is Eritrean, and my father is African-American. I was brought up Greek Orthodox, and my God parents are Italian. I am multilingual. I say all that to say I've been blessed by being exposed to many different cultures. Before I continue I want send out love to all my habisha people. Tegrina, Ormo, Amharia........One people.....please let us understand that and stop this internal destruction and death on all sides. In war there is no winner, only casualties. I am not a child of Diaspora (the coined term for people such as myself) I am a mixture of cultures of beliefs enabling me to see many different directions. Even with my mix linage I am proud of everything in me. My habisha name is Salaam al weuit which means peace maker. I am a proud parent of two children. My son is 12 and my daughter is 2. I am currently separated and going through a divorce. I loved being a wife and marriage but destiny has taken us down different paths. He is currently in Iraq so please send up prayers for him and all our troops over there. Also pray for the middle east. I am a nurse by calling and profession. Please in interacting with us show love and respect. We have chosen this profession because we care and we want to make a difference. We put ourselves in harms way on a daily basis for the well being of others. Understand when new diseases emerge we are the first to get exposed. Yet we chose to come back because we want to make a difference. I have a friends living with AIDS and TB from work related exposures. I love what I do and I wouldn't pick a different profession. To help in the transition from sickness to wellness fills me with a joy words can not express. I had the pleasure of doing surgical nursing in one of the largest Military Hospitals (Madigan Army Medical Center). In doing this, I was able to see first hand what our troops and their families are going through. I have bandaged their wounds and comforted their hearts. Please support our troops. I do not believe in war but I believe in them and the sacrifices they have made for me to enjoy the simple liberties I do everyday. I am loving and giving person.....an eternal optimist. I appear to most to be a strong person but internally I am weak. What gives me the appearance of strength is my faith. Through God I can do all things.I am a proud alumni of NC A&T State Univ. AGGIE BORN AGGIE BRED AND WHEN I DIE I'LL BE AN AGGIE DEAD!!! YOU KNOW! AGGIE PRIDE!
