Initially Decstarr started on the Garage scene doing most of his Djing at university events and private parties. With his impeccable selections and innovative mixing it didnt take him long to acquire a following in his scene. Any event billing Decstarr guaranteed a following of party animals and music lovers.the fun crowd. It didnt take long for the local student club promoters to realize the benefits of acquiring Decstarrs services on their nites Decstarr has never looked back!
Now that he had established himself as the universitys main resident Garage DJ, Decstarr began to truly innovate. He began to educate the masses musically, challenging the House & Garage label. Decstarr felt that many other djs claimed to mix House & Garage but in actually fact rarely mixed the two. He moved more towards his beloved US styles mixing the sounds of Todd Edwards with Funky House sounds from artists such as Armand Van Helden. The University crowd loved it! And it wasnt long before Decstarr was eventually asked to take over the main student club night.
Since then Decstarr has played up and down the country, securing weekly, monthly and one off spots in most of London clubs, as well as Cardiff, Ipswich, Colchester & Birmingham. Decstarr has also taken his fine mixing Style to the continent having mixed in Bars and clubs in Spain. Ascot (El Quadro,Valladolid) and Bulldog(La Caruna)
Due to the state of the Garage Industry, its styles being mass produced etc and his growing love for Funky Disco House, Decstarr diversified becoming a true house & Garage Dj.
