Teenage dreams, So hard to beat

About Me

Moved across to the US just before Christmas to a little Yup'ik eskimo village of about 400 people only accessible by small plane way out in the west of Alaska. Yeah, most people think I'm crazy! But, that's where my fiancee (at the time) had moved in 2004, though Kat's originally from California.
We'd met in the UK, and had managed to keep things going after she returned to the US. We got married at the end of January this year, and I pretty much fill my day's in playing on the Xbox 360, riding snowmobiles, and watching sports with friends. It's a hard life!

Bring on the music
In the CD racks alongside Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica, Deftones and Nirvana was David Gray, The Verve, Stereophonics and Oasis. The former bands gradually became over-ran by Snow Patrol, Damien Rice, The Magic Numbers and Jack Johnson. Playing acoustic tracks at home, but indie/metal/heavy rock depending on the bands, in practice rooms and on stage.
Something had to give.
Finding an audio cassette of the first 4-track recording produced years ago whilst back at school cleared things up. Brian Pandrich encouraged my creative streak for years, but after loosing touch, I was trying to emulate bands I didn't want to play the music of. Noel Jackson had put a bass guitar in my hand, then held sessions without sheet music so I had to play what I 'felt sounded right'. I liked it back then.
The electric guitars have been sold. Effects pedals and processors have gone. My pride + joy, a Marshall MG250DFX amp had hardly been used in reality. All that's left is an acoustic guitar, a small mixing desk, a condenser vocal mic, and an instrument mic.
Please note: MySpace is not a popularity contest. It is not a beauty pagent. If we went to school or college, you're interested in my music or the podcast I produce, great - feel free to add me as a friend and drop me some comments on my profile or blog. I'm always happy to chat with you guys.

Developing ideas for a couple of new tracks

I've got some ideas rolling around for a couple of new songs, or rather got various lyrics jotted down - just nothing coherent that all goes together. As my profile states, I either amble around for a...

Latest track - "In Someone Else's Hand"

Only a few days old. Since I'm feeling creative, thought it was best to record it before I get bored with it. Could be about a multitude of things, haven't quite decided what. Probably recent events t...

All good stories start somewhere...

There's plenty of tracks I've recorded over the years.I'm a master at getting a sudden rush of inspiration, scribble lyrics in a notepad, strum some chords, and hit record. Then I don't write out chor...
