Hi, my name is Nicholas Mayes and I am New Day Music. I am a producer based in Dover, and I work with up-and-coming artists from around Kent, the south and London. I have links with strong industry figures to help get myself and my clients more integrated with the industry, if the standard is high enough. I provide creative production, exciting mixes and an all round high quality recording.
I have had my recordings played on Radio 1, BBC Radio Kent, KMFM and a few others.
I record all music, from acoustic right through to heavy metal, but specialising in indie/rock bands and pop. I have also recorded many choirs, orchestras, pianists, voice overs and other concerts. Bands and artists have the option of either recording at my studio (prices shown below) or at the Fred Martin Studio (prices available on their myspace)

I work with bands of high and low abilities, and even bands without much equipment, as I have access to a range of guitars, amps, drum kits and cymbals, including a top quality on site DW Collectors drum kit. My production training has come from a number of sources, including the studio engineers at the Maida Vale BBC studios, where I receive training.... I'm not another 'college course student'.
STUDIO:
This is not a low standard basic studio, I have a collection of large mixing desks, a constantly growing yet professional mic collection, and all the right know-how and experience to put these things together.
1 control room and 1 optionally acoustically treated recording room. 24 channel top quality analogue mixing desk and top quality outboard mic preamps (VERY important) and outboard effects. Impressive selection of mics including many industry standard favourites (AKG 414's among others). Top quality synth rack. On site grand piano, guitar amps, bass amps and drum kit. Turntables and DJ facilities available for Demo mix CD recording. A network of artists and musicians available for backing/guest vocals and session musician work. A relaxed and easy going recording environment.
Band bookings are currently charged at £65 per 7 hour day, under 18 and bulk-booking discounts available: call for details. Bookings shorter than a 7 hour day are charged at £10 per hour.
If you are a songwriter/singer-songwriter looking to get your music proffesionally produced (all session musicians arranged and included in the price), I offer a 'Production Package' at a rate of £250 per song, which includes unlimited recording time, given at my discretion. Please call me for further details.
The 'Production Package' is offered at MY discretion, and I reserve the right to refuse it to songwriters/songs, who/which I feel are unsuitable for me to work with.
