The name SoniQ has it's own meaning in it's meaning.sonic: adjective SPECIALIZED of sound or the speed at which sound travels in air See also supersonic.(from Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary)The S and the Q is written in capital letters because those are the initials of his son Shawn Quincy.SoniQ is no stranger in the Dutch R&B scene At the age of 11 he started writing his own lyrics. In 1991 he started a band together with a friend. The bands name was KéShaw. They were the first group from Europe ever to be signed by Motown. After being in the group for 14 years he decided to embark on a new adventure.In the meantime he worked with well known people nationally and internationally.. went to work in studios with artists such as Rocq-E- Harrell, Teddy Riley, Keith Sweat.Now SoniQ began recording his album and is almost finished. The album is a mixture of styles. SoniQ don't want to be pinned down on one certain genre or sound. Not one song resembles another on the album. The reason for this versitality, is that he samples his inspiration from every day life. 'There is music in everything... it's the way you look at it .. or listen to it'From the daily occupations in 'a wonderful day' to the worrisom world developments that's in the evening news in the song 'I have a dream' Off course the romantic side is not left unnoticed.
