I am here to shine

About Me

The Weekend In Sydney

2007 Photo Gallery

Just a regular young Aussie guy here to make the most of the time I have. Love to get the adrenaline pumping and am ALWAYS doing something. Whether it's out socializing with friends, out clocking up the kilometres on my bike. I love the summer... but also thrive on the rush of pointing my snowboard down a snow covered mountain. By day I am the conservative corporate, but after hours my devilish and adventurous side comes out. Maybe you've seen me working in one of Melbourne's top clubs and bars.

Scottieb by night:

It must have just been one of those things that was meant to happen. A once off helping of a friend host a venue had awoken an entirely new side of me. Since then I have blossomed into an rocking contribution to some of Melbourne hottest venues. Under the guidance of some of the best in the industry (Thanks heaps Janee & Vanessa), I have thoroughly enjoyed this new part of me. Whether is hosting or bartending, I am always enjoying learning and working. Maybe one say soon you'll all be visiting my very own venue.

The Photographer:

As a photographer I enjoy the challenge of new settings and concepts. I love to show the deptth of expression in an image, hence why I prefer not to take 'posed' photos. I have spent most the past few years working with local Melbourne bands and DJs, helping them build folios and insights into who they are. My preference is for what I call 'social portraits', where I like to capture the emotion and feeling in a moment. Whether its a Wedding, a social event, a guitarist on stage or a DJ rocking out his tunes, I just love to find that frame that lets the viewer connect with the person.

Over the years I have developed my own creativity and had several opportunities to apply this in a commercial setting. Working closely with my Cuz, Evan, we have built a strong portfolio and relationship with clients. This year, 2007, I have decided to go back to school and put some formal training behind me in Photograhy. So I start a 4 year journey at the Photography Studies College in hope of developing my skills to a whole new level.

Here are a few photos from my folio:
People & Passion:

These series of photographs try to capture the spirit of fun and enjoyment within people as they do things they love.

Rhythm & Music:

Melbourne has an amazingly diverse music and social scene. Live bands rock venues right next to clubs pumping hours of beats. Here is my insight into a just a few of those little treats

My Interests

Photography, Socializing, Mountain Biking, Cycling, Partying, Traveling and meeting new people.

I'd like to meet:

Everyone single person on this planet. I am a huge believer that everyone in this world has a very different perspective on life and the events we pass through. Unfortunately, allot of people judge people because they have a different perspective. Instead, I just want to hear and understand those differences.

But of course at the top of my list is gorgeous under world lawyer Zarah Garde-Wilson.

Music:

Hard to describe... I am just as comfy in a club rocking the place from the podium, as I am enjoying a cold beer watching a live band.

Movies:

Fight Club, Matrix, Gladiator, Godfather, V for Vedenta, Chopper, The Castle, Lord of the Rings, Hannibal, Seven, Kill Bill, Trainspotting, Troy, Braveheart, XXX, Anchorman, Old School, Talladega Nights, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys, The Beach, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Rocky, Red Dragon, Hannibal, Dukes of Hazard, Top Gun, Snatch.

Television:

None... expect the fortnightly Formula One Race. But why the Hell are the following programs on TV: Big Brother, Aus Idol, Home & Away, 1 vs 100. Future generations are going to be rather twisted watching all that crap

Books:

I really struggle to read fiction... but always enjoy a good biography. Also currently reading allot of books on photographic technique. Plus about to start all Shakespeare's works. And yes, I have read the Bible cover to cover

Heroes:

Not sure if I'd call them heroes, but there are come people that I admire. Jeff Kennett, Leonardo De Vinci, John McFarlene, Michael Schumacher. Sporting heroes though would be, Michael Schumacher, Donovan Bailey, Mark Webber, Lance Armstrong, Brad Bevan, Cadel Evans and Craig Wottram.

My Blog

Learning... Learning...

Well here is my attempt at this thing called MySpace. Still learning the basics, so don't expect anything fancy just yet. But I can take requests and suggestions....
