About Me
PALMERSTON :When two fiery Portuguese siblings crash with one American bad boy, their differences in tastes, habits, and opinions will collide. And the debris will be music, comparable to none.
Based out of Los Angeles, Palmerston is made up of three outcasts who each found comfort in standing out, instead of dwelling on failed attempts at fitting in. French is a misunderstood, walking contradiction. With years of juvenile detention centers under his belt, living hand in hand with his need to write songs, poetry, and create paintings in order to express himself freely. The 20 year old found his place, and reason to stay out of legal troubles, as the voice of Palmerston.
Palmerston first came to life in a cold garage in Toronto with brothers Gabriel and Basilio. While finding meaning in their seemingly invisible existence, Palmerston released their first EP. This included the song "She's Alone" which would later make a mark in Portuguese radio as a top 10 single. This lead to a tour of European Festivals, including Portugal's "Super Bock Super Rock" where the band played along side Weezer, System of a Down and The Scorpions.
In 2006 the band went in the studio with a simple goal. Create a record that is sincere, would impact lives, and would overcome all boundaries. For that the band brought in producer, Dale Penner (Nickelback), mixer, Mike Fraser (Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith) and mastering engineer Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins).
Now with a full length, completed record, multiple European labels awaiting a final product to distribute, and a Myspace cult-like following of over 43,000 fans anxiously awaiting a release date, Palmerston is ready to expose what has been kept inside for far too long.
A leg of summer European festivals in 2007 is just a taste of what is to come.
