Melanie Beale

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Melanie began her music training at an early age. Starting on the piano at age five she quickly moved on to the harp, her real passion.She performed regularly with orchestras and operas on the West Coast while completing her Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of British Columbia. With the assistance of a Canada Council Arts Grant B Melanie spent a year at Indiana University working on her Masters in Performance with the world renowned harpist and pedagogue Susan McDonald.For the past few years Melanie has been performing solo concerts to cruise ship audiences all over the world. Her solo harp cd Early One Morning was featured on CBC Radio Two the year she produced it and has sold over 2,000 copies. Melanie is the featured harpist on two recordings of origional works for solo harp by Ontario composer Shaun Elder, Elemental and Frontier. She is currently working on a lullaby cd which will hopefully be featured here shortly.Melanie makes her home in Toronto, Canada.
