He was given the nickname WOOD by his family and later the nickname SLIMM by the streets. Lil’ Slimm was raised in the southside of Galveston in a neighborhood called (35th st. or TRE- FIVE). This area was popular for gang violence, crime and narcotics. Growing up Slimm was toughened by hard times, and being raised in a single parent home. Slim farther has been incarcerated since 1986 for a crime. At the age of 14 Slim started to D.J. under the influence of the well known D.J. Boulet of Galveston, Slimm started to D.J. the high school proms, black party’s where he became well known in the community. while living with his grandmother and being a no it all teen, not abiding the rules of the house Slimm was kicked out, by that time the streets was calling Slimm. Slim was more in and out of jail on family problems then ever on the street. He dropped out of school his senior year.Slim hooked up wit a friend who took him to Jennings Louisiana, where he enjoyed the atmosphere and all the partying, he felt like Jennings is where he could reside for a minute. Having a lot of childhood memories and his life in general, Slim felt it was time to let the pressure out though music raw and uncut.
