Ok where do we start! I grew up always loving music. I can remember my mother telling her friends stories of how i climbed up on the living room furniture to play her Brook Benton and Platters records at the age of 4 or 5. lol and according to her thats the reason none of those records exist in her collection today....ahahahhaa(i scratched all them $h!t$ up). As i got older i used to listen to the radio and hear Dj's like Red Alert and Kid Capri mixing music and saying to myself i want to one day learn how to do that.At the age of about 11 or 12 my best friend Charles(aka Scooby aka Mercenary(r.i.p.) gave me that chance. Whenever his pops who was a Dj back in the days left the house, we would turn on his sound system and practice for hours.This was my first experience with deejaying. After a few years i started putting together my own system from old turntables and amps i was given by friends and family who seen my interest in music and wanted to support my passion.When i got to high school i linked up with some friends from flatbush av. and we started our own sound system in 1994 by the name of Gemstone(selectaz Tragic and Jason). It was a small sound with local artist on dubplate and loaded with 45's and lp's. It was during this time another bredrin of mine gave me the chance to Dj on his late night radio show on college radio WNWK in lower manhattan. It was on that radio show i got the name Dj Tragic the b-52 bomber, alot of friends from school heard the broadcast and from that day till now the b-52 bomber dropped and Tragic stuck.....ahahaha.After that i linked up with a sound system called Technique's Disco former sound of selecta Baby Wayne. I played that sound for a few years. They gave me my first chance to play for a Big sound with heavy dubplates. Along with my boys Indian,Judgement,McVay and myself we took Techniques to another level. In 1999 my boy Charles(aka Scooby aka Mercenary(r.i.p.)who was there wid me through my whole Deejaying career was shot and killed on nostrand av neer vandaveer projects. This event changed my whole mood towards the music and i stopped for a while. I took about a year off from playing music. I later ended up joining with Stereo Choice sound and as you know anytime you have to deal with many ego's its a recipe for disaster. The sound had internal problems with one selecta that noone felt they could work with and i took a leave from the sound for about 2 years, but me and all the other selectaz always kept in contact and were cool.During those 2 years i thought about working solo, but ended up working with a sound named Web Intl. who shared the same ideas I had at the time.The chemestry when we played music together was on point, but once again personalities clashed and caused me to seperate myself from the sound. When the problems on Stereo Choice had been worked out i returned and its been on since!!!!Stereo choice Sound with Silva, Marlon Hype(taking over philly), Fadda Oneeko, and Dj Tragic. Big Up all the people who have supported me from day one.Big up all Dj's,Selectaz,M.C.'s, and all the people who make it possible for us to do what we do. I love yall!
