TORIE Singer * Dancer * WriterBiography:Torie was born as “LaToria Monet”, on March 29. At the age of three, her favorite toys were a microphone and a mirror, which in turn, directed her interest in music. At the age of five, she enjoyed putting on a One Woman Show for her family, by acting, dancing and singing to her own songs. At the age of ten, Torie became the youngest Sunday School Teacher in the state of Arkansas, at Wilmot C.O.G.I.C. At the age of twelve, she started a gospel group by the name of “The Three Angels” in which they performed a song written and produced by her live, on the “March of Dime” show in Greenville, MS. Being raised in a Christian home, Torie was not allowed to watch B.E.T. While visiting family members, she saw a video of Aaliyah and she knew then, that was her calling. After receiving her mother’s blessings, she began to venture into R&B and Hip Hop. Her favorite Artists are Aaliyah, Beyonce, Ciara, Chris Brown, and Ne-Yo, just to name a few. Her dancing skills are defined and inspired by Janet Jackson and Ciara. With such a wonderful gift of dance, she went on to win many talent shows, choreograph dances for church and school functions, and her 2003 Cheerleading Competition in Pontiac MI, which put them in 2nd place out of thirty-one entries.Being a very active individual, Torie participated in tap, jazz and ballad, as well as, softball, basketball, track, gymnastic, and her school debate team. In 2005, Torie went on to become the first African American to start a dance team at her formal high school, Centennial High of Roswell, GA. When she is not performing, Torie enjoys hanging out with friends and family, going to her vocal lessons, writing various lyrics, and attending church on Sunday at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Roswell, GA. Her goal is to pursue her dream of becoming an R&B Entertainer, as well as, obtaining a degree as a Corporate Attorney.
