About me? *whispers* Look somewhere to your left!!
*Clears throat*........
Romance battling against seemingly never-ending odds? Divided loyalties tearing at a fractious community? Contradictions of family and faith coming vividly to life? A liberal sprinkling of humour and hope? A talented cast and crew showing you what they can do? Something that will really get you thinking? Bruno Langley playing a taxi driver?! Andy McNair wearing a burka?!
And what contains all of these things and much much more besides? Could it be the upcoming Brit-Asian comedy feature film that I feel proud to have dedicated this site to? Could it be
HALAL HARRY, perhaps? Hmmm....

SYNOPSIS It's the worst day of Aisha's life - she's getting married.
Her father, Reaz, is stuck on the horns of a halal dilemma - torn between love for his religion and his love for his daughter, and it's all because of Harry Piggott....
After falling head over heels for Aisha, London barman, Harry, decides to do what it takes to win the woman he loves and so he starts to convert to Islam. Though welcome at first by many in the mosque, some aren't so accepting. Led by the dubious zealot, Ghoni, fresh home from his pilgrimage to Mecca (the bookmakers), the ever-present fundamentalists hatch a plot. Soon it all goes disastrously wrong for Harry, leaving Reaz in the middle - forced to make a choice. 'To integrate or not to integrate?!' - that is the question.

WHY I SET UP THIS SITE
Well, I was just a gal who had been innocently following the career of the highly-talented
Bruno Langley . He'd been doing well for himself since leaving his role of
Todd Grimshaw in
Coronation Street - particularly making a name for himself as
Adam in
Doctor Who - and was steadily building up his CV....and then he took up his role in
Halal Harry.
So, from finding out about Bruno's role in this, that then logically led me onto the film's
official website . And in its latest incarnation, I decided to send in some feedback....and, to cut a long story short, it was this feedback that led me to be amazingly contacted by the writer/director of
Halal Harry himself,
Russell Razzaque (wow, I KNOW!!) - and contact that came with an offer attached....
Russell very kindly offered me the unmissable opportunity of running a fan site for the film, which he has said I can take in whatever direction I see fit...so here I am!!
So, thank you most sincerely,
Russell (and all of you other unnamed film bods who were behind the decision to pick me for this!!), for letting me play my lil part in the drive for the film; I really do appreciate it. And I hope that I can do you, everybody else involved with the film, and the film itself, proud with this site....as well as all you fellow Halal Harriers out there!!
And on this site, apart from what you'll have seen above, you'll find regular news updates on both the film and its release (see my Blog for these).
Also, over the coming weeks/months, I will be conducting interviews with Russell Razzaque and selected cast members, which I will be posting up in my Blog as and when they happen. I hope you enjoy them once they're up!
So, feel free to leave comments/message me on what you think of my site; hope you're liking what I've done with it so far!!
