I am here for Friends

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator ''I love you. And not, not in a friendly way, although I think we're great friends. And not in a misplaced affection, puppy-dog way, although I'm sure that's what you'll call it. I love you. Very, very simple, very truly. You are the epitome of everything I have ever looked for in another human being. And I know that you think of me as just a friend, and crossing that line is the furthest thing from an option you would ever consider. But I had to say it. I just, I can't take this anymore. I can't stand next to you without wanting to hold you. I can't, I can't look into your eyes without feeling that, that longing you only read about in trashy romance novels. I can't talk to you without wanting to express my love for everything you are. And I know this will probably queer our friendship - no pun intended - but I had to say it, because I've never felt this way before, and I don't care. I like who I am because of it. And if bringing this to light means we can't hang out anymore, then that hurts me. But God, I just, I couldn't allow another day to go by without just getting it out there, regardless of the outcome, which by the look on your face is to be the inevitable shoot-down. And, you know, I'll accept that. But I know...I know that some part of you is hesitating for a moment, and if there is a moment of hesitation, then that means you feel something too. All I ask, please, is that you just, you just not dismiss that - and try to dwell in it for just ten seconds. There isn't another soul on this fucking planet who has ever made me half the person I am when I'm with you, and I would risk this friendship for the chance to take it to the next plateau. Because it is there between you and me. You can't deny that. Even if, you know, even if we never talk again after tonight, please know that I'm forever changed because of who you are and what you've meant to me.''
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
.. "Religion is the process of unconscious wish fulfillment, where, for certain people, if the process did not take place it would put them in self-danger of coming to mental harm, being unable to cope with the idea of a godless, purposeless life." — Sigmund Freud
''Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values. It requires that their proposals be subject to argument, and amenable to reason. I may be opposed to abortion for religious reasons, but if I seek to pass a law banning the practice, I cannot simply point to the teachings of my church or evoke God's will. I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all.'' - Barack Obama
“A person who believes that Elvis is still alive is very unlikely to get promoted to a position of great power and responsibility in our society. Neither will a person who believes that the holocaust was a hoax. But people who believe equally irrational things about God and the bible are now running our country. This is genuinely terrifying.” - Sam Harris
“According to the most common interpretation of biblical prophecy, Jesus will return only after things have gone horribly awry. Imagine the consequences if any significant component of the U.S. government believed that the world was about to end and that its ending would be glorious. The fact that nearly half of the American population apparently believes this should be considered a moral and intellectual emergency.” - Sam Harris
"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." - John Adams [1735-1826] 2d President of the United States, Treaty of Tripoly, article 11
“It is terrible that we all die and lose everything we love; it is doubly terrible that so many human beings suffer needlessly while alive. That so much of this suffering can be directly attributed to religion—to religious hatreds, religious wars, religious delusions and religious diversions of scarce resources.” - Sam Harris
''Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence.'' - Richard Dawkins
''I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world.'' - Richard Dawkins
"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." - Albert Einstein
"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." - Albert Einstein
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." - Albert Einstein
"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." - Robert M. Pirsig
"Most people can't bear to sit in church for an hour on Sundays. How are they supposed to live somewhere very similar to it for eternity?" - Mark Twain << rofl, I'm sorry but that one is funny as hell.

7 Downsides to being an Atheist
1.Coming Out of the Closet: Coming out of the atheist closet can sometimes be quite awkward. When you grow up in a really religious family, sometimes coming out to them is very difficult. I tried thinking of the best way to come out to my family for a good year. A couple days before I was going to come out, my brother told my mom. She asked me why I no longer believed in god and all kinds of other questions. To my surprise though, she was accepting, but it’s not always like this. Most families disown their atheist relative.
2.Meeting the Girlfriends Family: Nothing is more awkward then being at a family get together at your girlfriend’s house and the family asks you to say grace. Thankfully this has never happened to me, but I cannot even begin to imagine how awkward it would be. What do you do in a situation like that? “Uh, while I know you all love god…and stuff…I’m atheist…” The silence following that sentence is going to seem to last forever.
3.Atheists Worship the Devil: I was sitting in class talking to someone about religion when I noticed my older teacher just chomping at the bit to get in to the conversation. Before I knew what I was doing I made eye contact with her. She then started asking me if I believed in god. I informed her that I didn’t believe in god or any other higher power, nor did I believe in afterlife. Dumbfounded, she asked me if I believed in the Devil. Holding back a grin, I simply replied, no. Do people realize that when you are atheist you not only do not believe in god, but you also do not believe in any other religious characters?
4.No Morals: Atheists have any morals? How can they possibly have morals; they have no faith! Faith is not only for religion. Faith can be found in many other forms. I personally have faith in myself, my family, and my friends. As for morals, I believe everyone is born with morals. You are born knowing right from wrong. What about all the people before religion? They all still had morals, even without a religion! Religion is a faith, that’s about it. It does not determine morals.
5.Atheist Stereotype: Most people think of Atheists as either devil worshipers or idiots. I do not fully understand how we developed this stereotype but, honestly it’s fun. People never expect it when I tell them I’m an Atheist. I look like a typical college bound kid. People hear the word “Atheist” and associate it with punk kids with Mohawks and clothing with chains. The majority of atheists in reality are nerds and geeks. Why? For the most part someone who is Atheist likes to think outside of the box. They are in to astronomy and actually realize how complex the universe is. Once you begin to understand how complex everything is, it becomes harder and harder to have faith in a “God”.
6.Atheism is just a Fad: I find it funny when people tell me that atheism is just a fad. It must be because a lot of people are converting now a day…Wrong. Being an Atheist is not a fad, it’s a reality. Why do you think so many people are starting to become atheists? Simple. For the very same reason people started converting from polytheism to monotheism. Humans started figuring out how the sun and moon worked and they moved away from the idea of a sun/moon god. Now fast forward to present day, the majority of people have answers to a lot of questions. With these questions answered they start realizing that there is no god. I believe that the only reason why religions are still around is because we still do not have the answers to two very important questions; why are we here and how did we get here?
7.Christians: Why is it that religious people always want to preach their religion, but never want to hear anyone else’s? I’m the type of person that could give two shits about what you believe in. If it makes you happy and doesn’t hurt anyone, then go for it. It’s when Christians start telling me I need to be saved, I need to find god, and I’m on the path to hell. Who are you to preach to me that you are right and I am wrong? I love debating, but debating with a Christian is like debating with a toddler. They are more than willing to tell you how wrong you are, but when it comes to answering a simple question such as “How do you explain dinosaurs?”, they get offended.
I have experienced mostly all of these. I did not write this article , but I can relate in so many ways.
With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in. I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.Spiral out. Keep going...
