About Me

January's journey to daytime TV began when she was just 4 years old in her native Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her grandmother, a prominent figure in the local theatre scene, asked her if she wanted to play the role of "Roo" in a community production of "Winnie the Pooh" - and a lifelong love of acting was born!January continued to pursue her interest in theatre throughout her childhood and adolescence, taking dance lessons and performing in musicals in grade school and high school. She promptly declared her theatre major when she arrived at Fairfield University, and participated in over a dozen productions in her four years there.Immediately after graduation, January moved to NYC to pursue her acting career, which had been her dream since she was a little girl. After a difficult first year in New York ("the city kind of chewed me up and spit me out!" she says,) January decided it was time to go back to school to earn her Master's degree in acting. She was one of three women accepted to Denver's prestigious National Theatre Conservatory in Denver, Colorado in the fall of 1999, and spent the next three years honing her craft.January returned to New York in the spring of 2002, and immediately signed with an agent. Since then, she has performed in over 20 productions in acclaimed theatres both in NYC and around the country. She has also appeared on various television shows, such as all three "Law & Order" franchises, and does voiceovers for many national brand products - she is currently the voice of Revlon's "Mineral Collection" for the commercials featuring Halle Berry.She has worked on other soaps, as well, but the biggest thrill of her career was creating the character of Noelle Ortiz for the Paris, Texas storyline on "One Life to Live". "Not only was I going to be on one of my grandmother's favorite shows, but I was getting to act with her all-time favorite actress -- Erika Slezak!" January says. "It is an incredible dream come true, and every time I walk into the studio, I'm reminded of what a privilege it is to work there. After years of waiting tables, cleaning apartments, nannying, and working all sorts of other odd jobs, I could never take something like this for granted."
