About Me

Hey... I'm Misi. I live in a tiny little place called Sumatra. I'm really not even sure whether or not it is actually on the map. I dated some doozies to get to him... a couple baseball players, several narcisi, a ROTC jock, even a real live rockstar (for a whole 5 years, whoa)and I am proud to say that I weeded out all the assholes and I am married to my amazing husband, Andy, who is a cop, of all things, and also an offshore fishing guide. He's kinda famous in these parts... they all just call him "The Legend" Ha. We have one little girl, Mason, age 2 and another baby on the way. Also, I am probably the hottest pregnant woman EVER! Anyway, so Mason is an incredible child a goes everywhere are does everything with us. Since age 4 weeks she has been going off-shore fishing with us. She has surfed in the atlantic, swam at the reefs of the Dry Tortugas, skinny dipped on a beach in Key Largo, got her nurse-on at the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche and made several grown men blush when she pulls my boob out in public places to get her "Mommy Juice" yeah, yeah, she's still on the titty at 2 years old. I just can't bear to take it from her. She looks just like her damn daddy, which I guess isn't such a bad thing. I'd like to think she gets that badonk-a-donk from me though:)I guess the reason she is so special because she got such a special start. She came into the world in the same bed she was concieved in, born at home into mine and her daddy's loving hands. I had no drugs and felt every bit of my daughter be born and I must say it was the most spiritual event in my life... that's why we are planning to do it the same way this go 'round.I guess to sum it all up... I'm lovin' my life as a wife, mama and fearless breastfeeding-birth warrior, getting ready to push out another slimy sweet wet little kid.

My Interests

MySpace Countdown

I'd like to meet:

Ina May Gaskin

Music:

Movies:

Favorite movie of all time is Big Fish... I think it was written about my grandfather. Then... there are the classics, Dirty Dancing, Thelma and Louise, Pretty Woman.... oh, those were the days.

Television:

Discovery, Science, Health, History... anything dorky. I also LOVE Nip/Tuck, The Riches and Dirt was better last season than it is this season, but still a guilty pleaser and I must admit I get giddy when I see a new episode on the DVR. I'm not a usual fan of reality TV, but can't resist Rock of Love and the Ghost Hunters. When I watch it alone I get so scared I don't want to get off the couch.

Books:

The Red Tent, Baby Catcher, Midwives, Like Water for Chocolate (I cried my eyes out). I can't help getting wrapped up in a great book and will usually become obsessed to the point that I can't stand to put it down and end up reading the whole thing in a day... well, at least i did b.b. (that's before baby for all you who don't know).

Heroes:

Alice Sanpere, My Mama, Ina May Gaskin, My Papa

My birth fantasy

I am awakened my the sweet touch of Mason's chubby toddler hands groping for her morning comfort. Her rose-bud lips find my nipple and she sighs with content. She never even opens her eyes. Andy lies ...

How much does Mason really know about birth?

Today I was watching some birth videos with Mason to kind of try to prepare her for what's coming. She will more than likely be there when this baby s born, so I don't want her to be scared out of her...
