About Me

I'm a seamstress/designer specializing in dance costumes for local dance studios with competitive teams. I've won many costuming awards for my designs which means a lot to me, because I work very hard and really put myself into my work. I get little personal recognition for my awards and creativity, the accolades go to the dancer or studio, but I get great personal satisfaction regardless and am always humbled when I hear of my accomplishments. Nothing fulfills me more than to see a child light up when they put one of my creations on and to know they danced just a little bit better in my costume.
I also love writing and music (writing words, not writing music!). I do have a talent for expressing myself with the written word, but when it comes to music, feeling and appreciation is about all I have to offer. Can't remember why I had to quit those piano lessons at age 10, but something tells me mom knew best.
I work constantly from September - May. I'm a starving artist in the summer.
I'm divorced, was married for 24 years. I have 3 fantastic children, ages 12, 18 and 20. I have the best boyfriend I could ever dream of.
an astrological description that I loved..
Outwardly, you're modest. But your soul is an exhibitionist skinnydipping in the sunshine.

Music:

I don't really like to list "my favorite artists" because I just love music. All styles. Whatever hits that place inside that makes the cells stand at attention. Could be some hot jazz on a piano. Could be rap. (Love Ludacris) Could be a dance track. Could be a hard rockin jam blasted loud. Or Peter Gabriel's soft flowing rendition of George Gershwin's 'Summertime'. And lets face it, I'm old. So I have many years of music flowing through my veins. In my younger days I was so freakin into the Police that I would have been happy just having that shit fed to me through IV. And I was such a huge Kenny Loggins fan that I probably still remember every word to every song. One thing I do appreciate is a good voice. Dave Matthews freaking rocks my world. What seems to spin continuous rounds in my car these days are Jason Mraz (I prefer his live stuff), Tony Lucca, Joe Firstman and John Mayer. And mad love for my friends from Miami, January, check them out! But sometimes you just gotta have some fun and put in some old Spin Doctors... Music: I love it.

Movies:

No time for movies. You start talking movies and I'm completely lost. Not that I dont love a good movie.

Television:

Project Runway , Man Vs. Wild

Books:

Love books, but just no time for reading. John Irving was always my favorite author. And Alice Walker.

Heroes:

those who speak the truth are those who I aspire to be

And the fun begins. Or is that, ends?

So, I got the call, the big account I've wanted for at least 5 years. The price I will pay is not having a day off or any life beyond the 4 walls of my sweatshop for the next 3 months. But the reward ...
