Just as some people are addicted to drugs & alcohol I'm addicted to Music. After getting my start working for a production company I toured playing drums in a band for a few years. During that time I started overseeing the marketing for a large promotion company which turned into landing a job working A&R at Floodgate Records (Warner now East West) where I signed the band Number One Gun to a licensing deal who then later signed to Tooth & Nail Records, Mourning September & Forever Changed . While at the label I starting NorthStar Media Group which was created to manage, consult, develop & shop bands. I then left the label to manage Number One Gun full time & then Sherwood (Myspace/Interscope). After taking a short break to start what I now do full time I managed Olivia The Band (Essential/Sony BMG) & Inhabited (Fervent/Warner). Currently I manage Bidwell who is pictured below from Sacramento, CA. Their hot off 18 Warped dates & a 35 date, 10 state co-headlining tour sponsored by Crunk Energy Drinks. Their 7 track EP has sold 3,500 physical copies since its release Mar. 14th. It was entirely self produced, recorded, mixed & mastered by the band. You can purchase it here :
In July 2005 I started the company The Credit Card Machine Man as a strategic partner with Chase Paymentech who is No. 1 in the marketplace for merchant processing. We specialize in selling wireless credit card machine equipment along with processing & wireless service to national touring bands, clothing companies & other mobile merchants. In addition, we also serve retail & e-commerce stores.I saw a need for creating the service after noticing 9 out of 10 kids 16 or older have a debit and/or credit card but very few bands accept them. Bands are going to be forced sooner or later to be able to accept what kids have in their pockets or their going to be missing out on sales. Currently I service 300+ national touring bands such as The Bravery , Hoobastank , The Airborne Toxic Event , Shiny Toy Guns , Anberlin , Saosin , Bradley Hathaway , The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus , Straylight Run , Sherwood , Bayside & Cartel among others.
