Our main goal as a band is to get people to think, says singer/guitarist Duane Toops. We may never be a band that changes the world, but whats more important to us is that we change your life. If we can impact our audience to the point where they begin to alter there perception of the world around them in a positive way, then they themselves can begin to change the world. We just want to be a part of the chain reaction and if at some point we can be the catalyst...well, then I guess weve done our job.
Although, The Groves speak at great lengths about their desire to impact the minds of their listeners, one cant help but notice the effect they have on the ears. Wielding a unique blend of lyrical depth and musical proficiency, The Groves craft catchy, hook-laden songs with memorable melodies that are sure to get you singing along.
With the lineup consisting of Tim McClures groove heavy drumming, Nate Quidley's in the pocket bass playing, its no wonder why this tight rhythm section forms the backbone of the band. And through the eclectic guitar playing, passionate stage presence, and heartfelt vocals of charismatic front man Duane Toops the emotion and feeling of every song is conveyed.
