I started playing the drums when I was about six. My Dad was a Penticostal preacher & my family traveled around the US holding revivals. We played mostly black gospel choir music. I played in church until I started playing in rock bands as a teenager. When I was about nineteen I moved to Cincinnati and shortly after, begain playing drums in a band called Over the Rhine. While in OTR, I was able to record several cd's and tour a decent chunk of the globe. You can find my drumming on 'Till We Have Faces, Eve, Patience, Good Dog Bad Dog, Besides, Darkest Night of the Year, & Amateur Shortwave Radio. In addition to Over the Rhine, I've played with some other talented artists. Foremost of which would be Ric Hordinski of Monk (formerly of OTR).
With Monk, you can find me on Quiver, Hush, and O. After leaving OTR, I wanted to do something with a heavier edge. So, I started playing with a band called Anonymous Bosch and recorded two cd's with them. I then met Matt Parmenter, and John Gua.Together we formed the band Medic, which drew it's influences from bands like Radiohead & Muse. We recorded two CD's together Medic and People Destroys All. At the same time I started playing with The Kentucky Struts who ground themselves in a Memphis-style-rock-n-roll, combined with an alt-country flare. We are currently working on a new CD at Ultrasuede Studio with John Curley. This year I started playing with Eric Mathew Tepe, a talented singer/songwriter. Now I'm looking forward to the Over the Rhine 20th anniversary show at the Taft Theater in Cincinnati.
