About Me

Born in Windsor in late 1987, Edward Bell has been writing songs since 2002. While still perfecting his art, Edward is heading in a clear direction; sensitive, direct music.Montmartre is Edwards newest composition and was written as an observation on the lack of geographically focussed creativity in the world, as seen in Montparnasse and Montmartre in C19th Paris.Autumnal Goodbyes is a curious insight into why a woman was crying on the 17:29 from Waterloo. The River was written in a moment of seclusion and claustrophobia and aimed at institutionalism. Two Continents was written for a then girlfriend who was travelling around South America while Proud was written on a plane coming home from an eventful trip to Florence with a choir.Leave It All Behind is the first of Edwards creations, and was written simply when he thought he was moving schools, to a girl he didn't particularly want to leave! All of these hope to present a lyricism no longer commonplace in the charts, a Nick Drake influenced attempt at binding nature to man, and through all this, still be called 'unpretentious' by Linda Serck of BBC Berkshire's hit show, The Session....you have to wonder.
