Life's a garden. Dig it!

About Me

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
--Khalil Gibran

I have been married since September 30th, 2000, which means I am old. I grew up in Michigan, near Detroit, briefly lived in Madison, WI for 7 months in '06-'07, and now reside just outside of Minneapolis. Since our marriage began, Craig and I have moved 5 times (two of which were long distance moves), bought and sold our first house, and tried and failed to have kids.
Here in Minnesota, I've found a new raison d'etre. I was hired at Pier 1 on 7/17/07 and immediately felt at home. I'm learning and exercising my talents in many ways. After only a month, I was asked if I would like to be Assistant Manager. There were 4 others hired the same time I was, and my store manager asked ME! I am thrilled to be with a company that I have so much to offer and which also has so much to offer me. I'm looking forward to living out this time as both homemaker and assistant manager. Each job makes me better at the other.
My husband now works for the Big Yellow Price Tag that is Best Buy at the Mothership (Corporate Campus) here in Minnesota. He *hearts* his job and I *heart* spending money. It is a good arrangement.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Famous people! Oh, like, on myspace? Old friends, and I'd like to keep in touch with people I already know.

Music:

Most of the music I like is from the TV shows I watch.

Movies:

The Color Purple, Rainman, A Few Good Men, It's a Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music. And Heathers. Can't forget Heathers.
from childhood: The Neverending Story, Flight of the Navigator.

Television:

House, Prison Break, The Shield, Scrubs, The Office, Amazing Race, Nip/Tuck, Grey's Anatomy, The 4400, America's Next Top Model, Lost, Desperate Housewives, 24, The Sopranos, What Not to Wear, Battlestar Galactica, Mystery Diagnosis, Heroes, and Ugly Betty, 30 Rock
Living on in my heart and reruns: The OC, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Ed, Sex and the City, Threshold, Everwood, NewsRadio, The Wonder Years, Star Trek: TNG, and The X-Files. May they all live on in DVD box sets. Amen.

Books:

"And the Ladies of the Club" by Helen Hooven Santmeyer, biographies, don't do a lot of reading due to the above obsession :) I do make time to read my Bible, though.

Heroes:

Whatever city planner it was the planned Minneapolis. Alphabetizing the avenues and chronologically numbering the streets = brilliance.
