About Me

Nick Gladdish is a Newcastle upon tyne based singer/songwriter/pianist, originally from Plymouth (south west Devon) who spent most of his teen years on bass and acoustic guitar in various original rock/pop outfits. In 1998, having done all he could on the south-west circuit, Nick moved to North Yorkshire for three years to study Music. It was here, he met best friend and songwriting counterpart Lee Brown. The duo ("unplugged") gigged regularly on the north-yorkshire acoustic circuit playing covers and naturally the pair started to write songs together.Having graduated in 2001 from Hull University, Nick relocated further North to continue songwriting with Lee, it was here ("Casualkai" - nick's current band) was born. Over the past 7 years, Casualkai (now a 5-piece lineup) have been well received on the circuit and the group continue to write and record together. When the band are on a break, Nick continues to work on his own material, busk, collaborate with local musicians on various music projects - whether it be a live/recording session, writing partnership or an original or covers gig, he is always to be found somewhere doing something creative.Locally, Nick has enjoyed playing live and recording piano/backing vox for the following local acts: The Unstable Tables (live/recorded sessions) Verity Burton (debut LP) Kelly Brownell ("Far Away Girl" sessions) Graham Testo ("Tailoring In The Dropzone" sessions) Owen R Davies (debut EP). Please check their myspace sites out.Nick has recently produced a solo demo EP "Certain Ways", which was recorded and engineered by Jerry Stephens (Audio Angel productions in 2006). You can download some of these tracks from his website www.nickgladdish.com or just simply check them out right here!
