MeetMarket is a new pitching initiative at Sheffield DocFest, designed to match documentary makers’ most innovate project ideas with UK and international buyers. You can apply online now at: www.sheffdocfest.comBuyers view online one-minute pitch teasers of innovative documentary ideas, along with one-page treatments, in advance of Doc/Fest. From this, they select which projects they would like to discuss in one-to-one meetings at MeetMarket.Apply online by filling in the online form and uploading a one-minute pitch trailer before 12 September.MeetMarket is based on an original initiative of the Australian Film Commission (AFC) and the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC).

Documentary makers with innovative ideas for projects. The MeetMarket is a scheme that has been set up to bring filmmakers together with experienced buyers both in the UK and internationally.If you are selected, you will be scheduled into one-on-one meetings with buyers from the UK and the world. The MeetMarket will provide an opportunity for high quality, creative and original ideas to be fast-tracked from development to production, in a supportive, structured setting. MeetMarket will run from 7th to the 8th of November in 2008.Find out full details of application and festival registration online at: https://sheffdocfest.com/meetmarketIn order to submit a project, you will need to have the following prepared before you proceed through our online registration system:Project Title 1 minute teaser trailer for your project on youtube.com (learn more) Project Synopsis (500 word treatment) Budget Shooting Format Personnel Bios (Writer, Producer, Director, etc)Up to 25 projects will be selected for the MeetMarket, where producers will participate in scheduled one-to-one meetings with local and international buyers. The meetings will be in rotation and last between 15-20 minutes each. The local and international buyers will be invited to view online one-minute pitch teasers of innovative documentary ideas, along with one-page treatments, in advance of the DocFest. From this, they will then select which projects they would like to discuss at Sheffield DocFest 2006.Your project needs to be concise, succinct and ready to engage executives in 60 seconds – essentially enticing them to want to meet the creative team behind the idea.
