“One listen to Hippys On The Hill and, like us at Classic Rock, you will probably be astounded to learn that the average age of this quartet is a mere 16 years old. But despite their tender age, this bunch are already veterans in their local area with a fiery brand of alternative, high voltage rock. Hippys On The Hill are more than worthy winners of Classic Rock magazine's Battle of the Bands. As our competition winners, we'll be featuring them on a forthcoming CD with the magazine and we think our readers are gonna love them!"
-Sian Llewellyn (Editor) - Classic Rock Magazine.
“Hippys On The Hill are fast becoming one the best live bands currently gigging in Liverpool and their debut release should propel them to even greater heights. Not taking the common route of pop music that has become all too familiar, Hippys On The Hill write pure rock songs, with vocals that stand up to most lead singers who have plied their trade far longer and never sounded this good. With brilliant lead guitars throughout giving their songs energy, bass and drums as tight and as powerful as you want from a rock band, these young but gifted musicians will be around for a long time to come.â€

O2 Liverpool Academy 20th June Gig Review
From time to time if you are lucky, you get to see a young band on stage who just simply blow you away. Sometimes you think they might be a flash in the pan, just got fortunate enough to catch them on a good night. Not so with Hippys On The Hill! These four local lads have got talent by the bucket load and an attitude that is refreshing and unexpected, especially when you see that that the average age of the foursome is just 16! Opening up with 6ix 5ive 9ine, from their E.P, Sparrows And Stories To Be Told… The Hippys, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Brad Done immediately set out to rock the mixed aged audience and with Craig Henderson on guitar, Sean McMinn-Davies on Bass and extra vocals and Mike Priest on drums they did just that! The set was pure unadulterated belligerence, self assured rock. With memories of early Clash and The Alarm in their style the boys carried on the set with In the Night and the bizarre Popeye Has No Friends!
With time against them the band finished an incredible night with the slightly apt We’re All Insane (By The End Of Tonight) to huge applause from a more than satisfied crowd!
One of the best young bands around and well worth catching when they play at the Wirral show in July!
-Ian D. Hall - Liverpool Students Website.
"Hippys really are a beacon for the young bands on the Merseyside/West Lancashire music scene and I use them as a benchmark for other bands of their age in terms of music, performance and attitude. They are hugely entertaining to watch, have come up with great, memorable (and in some cases kick-in-the-stomach) songs, and are a great bunch of lads.
I play their music on a very regular basis on my Saturday night commercial radio show for local bands because I know their music will really lift the show and will be a big hit with our listeners.
Definitely a band to watch out for in the future – and the great thing is they deserve every single bit of success they achieve. Go for it!"
