About Me

I want to take you all to a more serious note in life.
For those Gf's, Wives, Mothers, Daughters, Bf's, Husbands, Fathers, Sons....these are my words for you....
I was searching old vocalists i used to listen to and i came upon an old favorite who i had the opportunity to meet, who is a true inspiration, and a woman with the strongest heart.
i started to download her songs...and came upon this one...and nothing but pure tears ran down my cheeks...why?! Because this song is what i know...the life i've now chosen to live since i am with my man and the lives that all of you husbands, wives, bf's, gf's, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, etc. are living....
When i read through the lyrics it captured my heart, my husbands, our passion for each other and the words we tell each other through his times away; meaning his deployments.
The few chosen words of.... "if the sun comes up and I'm not home be strong, If I'm not beside you do your best to carry on"!
The song caries the pain, struggles, courage, passion, love, and heroism it takes to live a life that involves the military and active duty life. It brings along the confusion of a young child who deals with their father being away....and not coming back.
Its reality for us gf's, fiance's, wives, bf's, husbands...that our men/women could become a hero and save lives and possibly even give their own. Though we stand by them and live this life we never let them forget what they are fighting for, and never let them forget what they have back home waiting for them....and for those with children...we never let them forget their child misses them.
Women....we are so strong! Never forget that. When times are hard remember what a HERO we are. We deal with the realization that this isnt a "sport" or a "hobby" its a lifestyle...one that can change you forever, though we never let our worst nightmares get to us....we carry on with a smile on our faces knowing that we are loved by a Soldier, a Hero, a Savior!
Our men arent in the Service just to "brag"....our men are in it because they feel its their duty. They've been given a task in life, Gods placed them on this earth to protect us, our country. We cannot stop them. Our men LOVE what they do....and one thing i believe all of us gf's, fiance's, wives, and mothers should remember is this:
Our men are strong, they are a knight. Fighting for what they believe in, Fighting with their soul and heart. If God believes its their time to go, he will take them. Not to leave us in distress and unwhole, but to give the Heavens not only an Angel but a Hero! Someone who without a doubt put their life on the line to protect their loved ones as well as all those he didn't even know. He's been taken in a moment of LIFE! He was doing what he loved, what he felt was right. We must remeber that he would never want to leave any differently. To leave knowing he was fighting for FREEDOM and PEACE, he left with pure accomplishment running through his blood and the glow of a HERO!
[this also applies to our women Soldiers]
*now please take a minute to remember your loved one, your Hero...
Here are the lyrics...but please try to download the song and read they lyrics while you listen to the song, you will get the whole feel and emotion of the song!
India Arie: "Good Man"
I remember the first day I met you we were so young you were a blessing and there was no guessing you were the one Love is so crazy We had a baby and said our vows That's when you told me should anything happen I can hear you now You told me
*Chorus* if the sun comes up and I'm not home be strong If I'm not beside you Do your best to carry on Tell the kids about me when they're old enough to understand tell them that their daddy was a good man
First anniversary remember we chose a star And as i stand under it I can't help but wonder if You see it where you are For whatever reason We don't see the seasons Change again Go there with peace of mind We'll meet on the otherside Cause true Love don't end and baby
if the sun comes up and you're not home I'll be strong If you're not beside me I'll do my best to carry on I'll tell the kids about you when they're old enough to understand I'll tell them that their daddy was a good man
Two eyes looking up at me Pointing to the picture like where is he Mamma are you OK What did the paper say To make you cry that way it said your Daddy lived for you and your daddy died for you and I'll do the same Now baby
if the sun comes up and I'm not home be strong If I'm not beside you Do your best to carry on Tell your kids about me when they're old enough to understand tell them that your daddy was a good man
God bless all of our Soldiers...those fallen, and those still fighting! The world wouldn't survive without you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! You all are true Hero's! God's given this world some of the most wonderful blessings...and you all are the most amazing!
Fight Hard. Keep Strong. Stay Tough.
And Come home soon!

The Soldier's Creed

I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United
States and live the Army Values.

I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough,
trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of
the United States of America in close combat.

I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.

I am an American Soldier.

The Soldier is My Friend
Dedicated to U. S. Soldiers and Veterans

I have a friend who may not know or ever call my name,
A friend who may not visit, but I thank them just the same.

My friend is called the soldier who's on duty day and night,
For me to pledge allegiance, they have fought and paid the price.

Where would we be today without the brave hearts who have served,
So we can wave "Old Glory"; so our voices can be heard.

And what would life be like today without the many soldiers,
Who walked into the jaws of death with guns upon their shoulders.

Life would not be as great today, with freedom in our halls,
And we'd live in oppression and great fear would grip us all.

So when you see a soldier you should thank your God above,
For here's someone who represents the greatest gift of love.

And when you pledge allegiance, you should see a uniform,
Of those who walked through battlefields and weathered many storms.

We cannot take for granted what is takes to pay the price,
And be a U. S. Soldier who has made a sacrifice.

And whether they are fighting on the ground or in the air,
Or sailing on the ocean, we can rest assured they're there.

Oh what a peace it is for me to hear the sound of jets,
Of flying Air Force pilots who have bravely passed the tests.

And what a happy feeling when a ship pulls into port,
With smiling Navy Sailors who were holding down the fort.

Then what a sense of pride I have to see in my hometown,
A soldier in the Army who is serving on the ground.

And then there are the soldiers who are training on a team,
They're proud and they're courageous, the United States Marines.

If you have fought a battle or have lived through several wars,
And freed a camp of prisoners, saved a life or fed the poor.

Or if you've volunteered to go to places I've not been,
I salute you, U. S. Soldier, National Guard and Veteran friend.

For you have made the difference in America today,
And when I see the stars and stripes, I see a soldiers face.

A fearless face of courage lined with dignity and truth,
A face with battle scars or an enlisted face of youth.

And whether you are young or old, still serving or retired,
I live my life in debt to you who's walked through many fires.

I sleep in peace at night because you will defend our borders,
To go where you are needed, you will follow any orders.

So thank you, may God bless you and this country you defend,
This land is what it is because the soldier is my friend.
